Also remember that the Cotton Bowl was the first home of the Dallas Cowboys until Texas Stadium was built. Even though they weren't very good they played against some Hall of Famers. I still enjoyed the quarterbacking of Dandy Don Meredith.

The Cowboys were a hell of a lot better than they are now. In their last four years playing in the Cotton Bowl(66-69)they were 42 and 12. Starting in 1966, they made the playoffs 20 straight years. They played for the NFL Championships in 66 and 67.

They were also playing with Hall of Fame members like Renfro, Staubach, Wright, Lilly, Hayes and Ditka. Make no mistake, the Cowboys of today are a tiny shsdow of what they used to be.
