Protip: If you're from Vegas, don't even think about falling for the billboards advertising "casinos" in Oklahoma. Just...no...Just don't do it.

Oh: and from a displaced Best Coaster, welcome to DFW. Dallas has some decent places to entertain.

(And...pssst...for the love of all things, can I stow away in your carryon on your return flight? It's been six years since I've been to Vegas, and the itch is insatiable!)

chitownrebel, reverse that score and then it will be just fine! :)

Should be a fun game for all. Don' think we should put much stock into what "1" ESPN online rag reporter says anyhow.

He probably thinks we still have Indian depridations and ranch massacres a-goin' on down here in Texas anyhow.

GMG!

I hope Mike Napoli is there. I'd like his autograph.

I hope Matt Treanor is there. I'd like his wife.

No way you guys score 100 on us. Basketball maybe, but not football. Our defense likes to eat ball carriers for lunch.

Welcome to DFW, prepare for cold. New Year's day can be mild or colder than the other side of my pillow.

I've been to the Dallas area before. A few years ago I came out to watch my White Sox play 3 games in Arlington including a day game in 103 degree heat with a 79 dew point. I stayed right by six flags over Texas and had a good time.

For the game I am flying in the 31st and out the 1st after the game because I have to get back to coach my basketball team. Won't have much time for anything other than the game itself....my favorite place in Texas is the steakhouse in Amarillo where I proudly finished the 4.5 lb steak in under an hour

I like your fan base from what I've seen on this board. Didn't expect 10 replies within a 30 minute span and there wasn't any spam talking. Maybe North Texas has the best fan base in Texas?

Well I think Agfans and Shaggybevo have pretty good online showings but I would venture to say that our message board is easily the best in CUSA. Now if only we could get that to translate to attendance.

Pfft. Who do you think we are? UT San Antonio?

That is an accomplishment. I considered it...once. Looked at the life size model of it, and ordered a regular steak that I gladly paid for.

If you're a history fan, you need to make time for the 6th Floor Museum.

You need to eat BBQ brisket & Tex-Mex somewhere. I'm sure the guys on here can chime in with where to eat. Everyone has their favorites. I like Mike Andersons for bbq brisket & Mia's for Tex-Mex.

Well done! I've lived in Texas nearly all my life and that place ranks right up there with me, too! That was a regular stop on the way to the Colorado mountains for ski trips, growing up.

Ugh. Can you please take your homosexual agenda somewhere else?!

PS: That's a joke. Don't PM me.

PPS: Welcome aboard UNLV fan. I have found we treat anyone who comes on here like you treat us. If you are kind and complementary, so are we, if you are a jerk we will unleash mutually assured jerk-ageddon.

UNLV fan/alum here.

From reading all of the stories on our upcoming bowl matchup it seems that neither of our schools are getting much respect. I know the Mean Green have struggled over the past few years and like us are enjoying their best season in years. Although UNLV fans don't know much about the North Texas Mean Green don't think that we don't respect you. At this point we are happy that our team was able to win 7 games this year and become bowl eligible for the first time since 2000.

I really hope this turns out to be a thrilling game that draws the attention of the nation. Maybe something like a UNLV win 132 to 131 in 8 OT.

I know we will be outnumbered fan wise but we may be bringing more fans than people expect. I have my flight, hotel, and car rental booked as do a lot of my friends. Here's to a good game and a fun atmosphere as we both continue to build our programs. UNLV football gets ignored often but since our basketball team is struggling we are going to have to try to enjoy football a little more this season.

Welcome to the site. Good to have you here.

Chitownrebel i am pretty sure this is a question most on this board would like to hear answered from a UNLV supporter.

in 10 words or less give us your opinion of President Smatresk!

Well compared to the President before him [Carol Harter] (the woman that fired Coach Tark) President Smatresk was a god!
