maybe if you aren't from North Texas, and haven't been watching us get our faces rubbed in the mud for the past however many years. I'm interested! dragging the wife with me too. :)

Did you follow all that? Basically, this bowl was put on the bottom of the pecking order and treated like a toss out because a) it’s on ESPNU, B) it’s going up against three SEC/Big Ten bowls and c) it’s owned by ESPN.
This bowl has had a very interesting four-year life so far as the only bowl game to ever air on ESPNU. Its second game featured two Top 25 teams, except one was Penn State in the wake of the Sandusky scandal. And moving forward, it should feature a Big 12 or Big Ten team every year. This year?

Well, these two schools deserve to be in a bowl game after good turnaround seasons. It’s just too bad no one will notice.

      24/25 MBB Attendance Tracker

      I'm excited and worried to see what attendance will look like this year. Home opener on Election Night gets an expected low result. A lot of games over the Break, including one the Monday of Thanksgiving Week and only two Saturday games all year. I'm curious what Game 2 will look like tomorrow against NAIA Wayland Baptist. Doesn't seem like there's been much marketing for basketball yet.

      I don't think that's Mercado. That was south of the square.

      That's a great list, assuming Mercado Juarez is the Mexican place that I used to go to. There was a Mexican restaurant (possibly 2 locations), and I think they were owned by 2 brothers. One of the unique things about the place was they served a bowl of pickled veggies (cauliflower, carrots, mushrooms?,etc.) with every meal. Is this that place? I seem to recall it was located South of 380 and West of Carroll, maybe near Malone or Ector St., but that was 35+ yrs ago, so hard to remember. There's also a place called El Matador that I now see in Denton and that name sounds familiar too, so maybe that was it. I ate a LOT of chicken fried steaks (actually sandwiches) at the Texas Pickup and celebrated a lot of basketball wins in the late 80s at the State Club. I also did a lot of damage on "all you can eat" catfish night (Wed?) at Captain D's on 380/Bonnie Brae. Also, ventured over to Krum for catfish and ribs a few times at the Clay Pot.

      Mean Green Beat Evansville 80-63 In Season Opener

      This is the most athletic and deepest team we have had in years. Going to be fun watching them gel as the season progresses.
