OIK. So let's change that.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Not only for NT but for the DCTA train service.

Call 'em. Call 'em and tell them that you would ride the train to and from the Cotton Bowl.

The DCTA can be reached at (972) 221-4600.

I just called. And by the way, the "sold-on-hold" recording makes mention of riding the train to a "screaming Eagles" game. I asked them to fix that as well.

Beat UNLV.

Call 'em ! ! !

I don't know what the ridership would need to be for the DCTA to break even but it might need to be in the thousands. Best bet might be to get local businesses to help offset costs through sponsorships like they did for some of the regular season games.

The a train doesn't make money anyway, hard to see why service for a New Year's Day bowl would hurt them too much...

I've ridden the A Train quite a few times to enjoy the libations of downtown Denton. I don't think I've ever seen more than ten people on it other than the opening day when it was free and they were giving away free chick fila sandwiches at every stop.

I mean, don't get me wrong. I personally immensely enjoy the A train, but I do wonder how it is even remotely viable.

OK I booked my flights today from Houston. We are coming in the morning of the game and only staying the one night. My question is what hotel should I choose? Has it been confirmed that the team hotel is Omni Downtown? I have seen a few post mentioning that but have not seen anything on MeanGreenSports. If so I plan to book there unless someone can think of any reason not too.

Thx in advance.

When it comes to scheduling, they appear downright slow-witted and without an atom of common sense. Yes, I Will call and repeat what i have said here along with a few more choice critiques. Thanks for the number, green joe.

I have been a loyal supporter and advocate of the DCTA and the ATrain from the beginning, but their ineptitude has about caused me to give up on them. They appear downright slow- witted and without an atom of common sense when it comes to scheduling. The peculiar irony of the DCTA is that it is a public transportation service that apparently doesn't believe in public transportation. By the way. doesn't UNT have any influence or input into this entity? The athletic dept. should have been promoting the ATrain for the HOD Bowl before those clowns at DCTA had a chance to take it out of service on New Years Day. Why do so many people in charge of things never seem to realize of potential of the ATrain for UNT, TWU, Downtown merchants etc.? Call

If RV and President Rowlins can't get the A-Train thing worked out then we have big problems. Our AD department sould have been all over this once they knew UNT would be in the HOD. And our AD wonders why we believe in so many ways why they can't promote events or are generally 5 to 10 steps behind when it comes to simple common sense. Doesn't our AD department have any meetings regarding bowl promotion. If North Texas doesn't offer business marketing class then maybe we need to hire someone from a college that has a top flight marketing program.

As far as Tarrant county Alumi's are concerned put some gas in your car or truck and drive a few miles. I don't need to tell you what Hwy to take do I?

If we're going to hold the AD's feet to the fire, then lets add the DCTA as it's their train and they're the ones that ultimately make the decision on whether to run the train or not. The AD can only ask the DCTA to make special runs on a holiday for North Texas fans.

Is the Lewisville bridge a major barrier or something? Can people north of the bridge not cross it to get to the DART stations?
