I've read this numerous times and never realized this. I thought from his reaction to being hired, that he was excited to be here and would stay and build something.
I would say this job will require a unique personality. Bill Blakeley was successful, not only in winning games but in drawing a crowd, because of his personality. He was a show all alone on the sidelines and with the signs he hung from his chair. He also ran a fun brand of basketball and engaged the fans and the community. That is what is needed and not a coach that is biding his time looking for the next big thing. I don't think I ever recall reading or hearing Ross engage the fans outside of one or two social media posts. He had, and supposedly earned, a media bonus with his contract which shocked me because I rarely heard a word from him outside of being interviewed during or after a game for a few seconds plus the typical post game press conference for Vito and a Daily writer.
No. I don't think so. North Texas Football gives people the "ick." For us to duplicate basketball success on the football field we'd have to start doing things our football program has never done... winning double digit games in a season. And that's just for starters. Due to our porous recruiting/reputation <---- UNT Football and our lack of NIL money, we will never land the amount of studs needed to start duplicating basketball successes.
Crazy stat... yet... people dismiss our basketball program... it's insane.
What our basketball program has done has or never will be duplicated by our football program...ever. Never, ever. Not even close.
Same loser that tried to hold out of the college football playoff game... then proceeded to throw for 104 yards on 45%.
Was getting 2/per... wanted 4/per... Tennessee told him to phuck off.
Collegiate athletics is worse than ever. There is not much good about the setup. Yet, losers* that have nothing better to do hang onto every play in every game.
*Sometimes I'm that loser. But I no longer schedule my fall weekends or days, or basketball nights around any one game.
