In reading an article by Bill Nichols about SMU football "Big plays, big blunders tale of SMU run" in this morning's DMN, the next to last paragraph caught my eye:

"The Mustangs face another difficult nonconference schedule next year, which includes an opener against Big 12 champion Baylor, followed by North Texas, Texas A&M and TCU".

Do you think North Texas is included because it is just part of their nonconference schedule or do you think UNT is now considered by the writer as a "difficult" opponent?

He could have easily just named the other three nonconference games and not included us at all. I am hoping this might be a little step in changing the perception of our football progam. Then again, I have been accused of having green blood through and through so I may be reading what I want into this.

GO MEAN GREEN....BEAT UNLV!

Smu is finding out why you don't schedule way above your head. UTSA will find out starting next season.

Oh dear, now starting a UTSA obsession. Damn you Harry!

Perception is a funny thing. USA Today has three teams we beat rated above us: Rice, Ball State, and MTSU. Three teams we lost to are ranked below us: Ohio, Tulane, and UTSA. SEEMS KIND OF STRANGE.

The reason the 3 teams we lost to are ranked below us is that we mentally played to the level of our competition and got our butts kicked as we should have. This program isn't Baylor, OU, OSU cowboys, OSU Buckeye's, or even UT. We can't just show up and win we have to work for it and put 2 good half's of football together. If we'd taken care of business we'd be ranked higher than the teams we've beaten.

I agree in spirit, but one good half would have done it against UTSA.
