I sent an e-mail to Coleman... everyone's favorite ticket rep... and he told me the University was only given 5K tickets to sell?

I was concerned about us not being able to sell out our allotment, but if that is all we have, I wouldn't imagine those tickets would last a week...

OR is this another one of the AD's ploy to make us think we have limited time to buy???

The school can always ask for more if they want. But an inital allotment for a bowl like this sounds about right.

wow... I'd have thought they would have had to sell like 15K from the horror stories i had heard about this type of stuff

I am sure UNT will be more than capable of gathering more tickets. I really wouldn't worry about it as long as you get ticket and show up wearing green.

Sounds wrong. It has been alluded that the university has the lower bowl on one side between the 20 yard lines. That's more than 5,000. In addition, they should have some general admission seats for those students who can't/won't pay $75 for a ticket.

Usually a Bowl like the Orange has 15-20K initial allotmments. Obviously, schools tend to sell their initial allotments in the big games, but for smaller ones, even selling 5-10K seats might be tough when folks can buy tickets in other ways. Now, twenty years ago those other markets weren't as big a deal as they are now and schools tended to probably sell most of the seats themselves. I really don't think that is the case now at all.

There are 91,000 seats in the Cotton Bowl. If you want to go to the game you'll be able to get a ticket. Even if it is on Jan. 1 at 10:45 a.m.

Ordering them now through the Athletic Department helps the school because the tickets go towards the University's allotment. NT should sell its 5,000 allotment before Wednesday. The school should sell double or triple the allotment. If it does not and the school gets looked over by a bowl after it's bowl eligible next time, fans have nobody else to blame but themselves.

Be happy that an initial allotment is only 5K. Whatever a school doesn't sell they have to make up the difference. The shady dealings of the bowl world.

Yea we need to order from the school otherwise no bowl will be interested in us next time. People who y form the HOD bowel are considered fair weather fans who would just be interested in the game. UNT people need to buy from the university period!
