I know Omni Downtown is the main hotel.

I am staying at the Omni on LBJ its about 140 bucks cheaper per night. Hopefully a large group of UNT faithful will stay there too. I think we should make threads for where different people are staying and meet up to bring in the new year!

Doubtful. This is the best I found and it is Omni on 635. I know it is away from the party but the same rooms at the Downtown Omni are double that. You can also add some things to get champaign and chocolate later but if you are looking for least expensive option at omni this may be it.

Preliminary planning has been going on for at least a week. Given that the university has been officially closed for the past couple days I don't expect an announcement for bowl events to to be made no earlier than tomorrow.

Right now the Omni is going for $269 and there are limited rooms available. It will be interesting to see what the team hotel is and what types of discounts they offer.

In New Orleans they had a team hotel but also some other affiliated hotels you could book as well at discounted prices. The problem with Jan 1 is there are a lot people getting hotels in downtown to participate in the New Years Eve Celebration at Victory which has been growing more and more each year...

Having the opportunity to party downtown with the Mean Green fans on New Years Eve is going to so awesome! Can't wait!

Eastwood, I am also planning on taking the train that morning to the Omni Downtown for the breakfast with all the UNT fans then taking the Dart to Fair park. Don't have to pay to park and can not get in accidents with other crazies (from the night before) driving. If you hop on in Carrolton its only 5 bucks for the day, as opposed to Highland Village or Denton it is 10 bucks because it has to be a regional pass.

Wherever you are or wherever you go. Wear your Green and be loud. Coach Canales tweeted earlier saying we needed a "Green Out" in the Bowl game. I will wearing nothing but UNT gear all of my christmas break. Having to wear school colors every day (I teach MS PE) makes me itch to wear my UNT gear. Now that its cold I can throw on a UNT Hoodie.
