I agree. If it was a team with an awful record or little national name recognition, maybe. But it would seem like a pretty dumb move to veto Rice. Is Vandy in that one?

Remember, the Liberty Bowl does not have to take the C-USA Champion. Since Rice has a small fan base the Liberty Bowl may opt off Rice and allow them to go to Heart of Dallas Bowl. UNT could then go to the Armed Forces Bowl...Rice went to Armed Services Bowl last year so they won't want to go back.

Not saying this will be what happens but it's possible.

You're kidding, right? I have it on and there are probably less than 1,000 people there. Even the announcers pointed out the crowd was only a few hundred because of the ice storm.

With SMU losing today that means the BBVA compass bowl will take an SEC team instead, in that case there is a real good chance the Liberty takes Miss St instead and sends Vandy to the BBVA.
