More UNT bowl talk, thoughts

We are headed into the last weekend of the regular season and the last few days before UNT finds out where it is headed as far as the bowl season goes.

We had a story in the paper a couple of days ago about where things stand for UNT.

The bottom line is this — UNT is likely headed to Dallas (dream destination) for the Heart of Dallas Bowl, Fort Worth for the Armed Forces Bowl (dream destination II) in a bowl swap or the Hawaii Bowl (the worst case scenario).

Yes, that sounds weird, but it’s true.

UNT will get a big recruiting bump and come out better financially if it lands in a Dallas area bowl. UNT has a hard time getting people to come to Apogee Stadium. The traveling party for Hawaii would sound a little like a large dinner reservation. “North Texas, party of 12?”

Is the independence bowl out? I am not sure the TCU bowl would be a dream destination for me. I like the idea of Shreveport just because at an away event people could spend a few days at the location and bond and create stronger fans. If in Shreveport I know I would go a few days early to hangout with fans, go to a few events and drink a bit.

I thought the HOD was a lock though?

I think it's a long shot , but still a possibility. The SEC won't be able to fulfill all their slots. I've see several sites predict it will be a CUSA team. I'd love the Independence Bowl. Very easy to get to for fans , in a stadium most players & fans have never been inside. On NYE, so most people will be off work. It's also had some great games in the past
