I just did before reading your post.

I think they're very winnable but yet marque enough to bring attention.

Maryland isn't know as a football power. Michigan is a national known football piwer. But many a casual fan doesn't realize they had a down year.

Perfect matchup program wise for us.

It's a measuring stick to see just how good we are. The Georgia team we played was much better than Michigan, IMO. We did alright for 2 1/2 qtrs.

Playing Michigan close would be a HUGE boost for this program, which needs every leg up it can get.

Hell, event the fact that we faced Michigan in a bowl game would provide a good recruiting advantage and legitimize the UNT program which, sadly and mistakenly, is still perceived as a joke to many of its own alumni.

I agree..... but it could also do the opposite.

I went over to Michigan's fan forum. There seems to be no talk of them possibly going to the Heart of Dallas bowl. They seem to be thinking Gator Bowl against Georgia. I'd like to see Michigan come here.

I really don't think the HOD will feature a BIGX team

Agree.

Imagine the ignorant, disconnected UNT alum who is casually into college FB. Probably a UT/A&M/OU fan. Michigan would pique their interest for sure.

I'll take that to mean you are aware that the tie in for the HoD is with the Big 10 but think they won't have enough eligible teams to fill the spot due to teams going to BCS bowls.

I dont want any part of Michigan lets have a chance at winning a bowl game plz (sure it would be fun but that time will come, imagine a Heart OF Dallas bowl Victory! what that would do to our recruiting....) I can see it already the skinniest #98 playing QB moving the chains time after time

Michigan.

You want to play the biggest name team possible with a chance to get a win. UM's 2nd half of this season has been tough, losing 4 of their last 5 games with their lone win coming against #65 Northwestern. I wouldn't say they're down, but their losses were against some tough opponents: Nebraska #40, Iowa #30, MSU #10, & OSU #2.

It would be a tough game no doubt, very close to Georgia tough. I think just hearing the words NT, Michigan, & Bowl Game all in the same sentence lifts perception 10 fold. More than any other post season matchup possibility. This team showed it can hang vs Georgia. It's an uphill battle, but NT has a punchers chance, IMO...

give me Michigan... they aren't that good... if you don't want to vote for Michigan because you don't think we would have a chance, then you can't want to play Iowa or Nebraska... who both beat them...

Michigan beat Akron 28-24 and Uconn 24-21 in last minute victories... if not, they aren't even in a bowl game this year

they biggest wins this year are Notre Dame(8-4) and Minnesota(8-4)... both at home... then Central Michigan(6-6)

sure they looked good in their rivalry game, which we know they all had circled on their calendars, against an Ohio St. team that nobody really knows how good they are...

two road wins, one against Connecticut(2-9) and one against a 5-7 Northwestern squad that was in the middle of dropping 7 in a row, and it took them 3 OT's to do it

i think this is a very winnable game... i'm down for big blue

Keep in mind that Georgia came in cocky and totally underestimated us.

That won't happen in a bowl game.

I voted Washington St. Michigan will lobby to get to the Gator Bowl.

I always find it interesting that so much stock is held in rankings. Ball State didn't have Michigan's schedule this year. Its really kind of silly. I don't look forward to the possibility of playing Michigan. :(

Strength of schedule is taken into account in the rankings. They aren't great at predicting outcomes, but at this point of the year, they are a pretty good indicator of how well they performed throughout the season. Ball Sate only lost to us and potential BCS buster/undefeated NIU, that's a heck of a season. They are no slouches. Granted, neither is Michigan, but I truly believe that when we are at our best, we are as good or better than several ranked teams, so I won't assume we would lose.

I would just love to see our guys get a chance to play for a win that would make serious waves.

Agree...

The North Texas team that played Ball State and Georgia (the first 3 quarters) could give several ranked teams some big trouble (and maybe even a loss). Hope we are saving our best for last.
