Championship game at Apogee with left over sleet all over the sideline, a frozen field, 28 degrees for a high, a hard hitting defense, and cozy club seats. :P

So what if attendance would have suffered, it sure woulda been a good timey old fashion football game.

The only thing missing would have been the great soundtracks from the old NFL films.

For those sitting outside it would have been miserable. It would not have been as bad as the old Ice Bowl between the Packers and the Cowboys in Green Bay, but close.

But something they would have talked about for a long, long, long, time.

Yes, Don, a most memorable game for all Texans to remember (or try to forget).

And with all the ice projected for Saturday it would have been worse ((IMO) than "just" the snow we had when the Mean Green played Bobby Bowden's Florida State Seminoles at old Fouts Field back in the day.

With snow at least you have traction, with ice all you have is your knees to grab as you bend over praying for dire help to keep from running into an 18 wheeler on the interstate to get to the game.

I'm assuming the HS play-off game at Apogee tomorrow has also been postponed? Emmitt or anyone else who knows?

It hasn't been postponed yet. I think that yet is the key word there.

I seriously doubt it. But, unlike FFR, I am a "gramp".

Yet you feel younger to me. Honestly, if I hadn't met you both, I'd flip the ages in my head.

This has been the only consolation that I've had for us not beating UTSA.

It would have been miserable. Memorable, but miserable.

Now that is what you call finding the silver lining around a dark cloud.

If we get the HOD Bowl with the right opponent I'm still not sure which other

CUSA bowl game would be as attractive--and not counting location, ie, Waikiki Beach,

hula-hula girls, Polynesian Culture Center or whatever, either.

So we would have had very icy roads, I 35E northbound backed up for miles due to someone sliding off the bridge into Lake Lewisville, and Fort Worth still pretty much iced in.

Maybe things happen for a reason.

What a memorable day late today or Sunday will be, when for the first time since 2004, we find out which Bowl we will be in. That's what is important now...

Reports say I35E is a disaster to navigate. I doubt I'd be able to make the game from Carrollton and its only a 30 minute drive on a normal day.
