Was driving I-20 yesterday from eastern Parker County to Ft Worth and back and saw Encore trucks all over the place;most likely from other parts of the state and adjacent states, too, for that matter.

They have prepared for all this, folks.

Brother lost power while the rest of the fam is fine here in Carrollton. I'm in wait mode on the Dallas Marathon. Right now DART rail is closed until further notice. :-(

My power came back on but now my neighbor shows me where a big tree branch from my backyard has broken off on his driveway....ugh

Yeah, I had a nice big tree branch break off and smash in my car's back window! Funny, I called the insurance company and they told me they can be out by noon to replace it! Seriously? Obviously the call center is not in DFW.

Quite a few trees in my neighborhood have had tree branches break off as well. One has come close to hitting my car but just missed it luckily.

The oaks in Lake Highlands are being decimated. Watched a live oak split in half and fall into a guys house as I was walking my dog this morning.

The wife went in and started yelling at the kids to get up to go to school cause the weather "wasn't as bad as originally thought" and there was only a two hour delay..."Get Up!!!...Get Up!!!...Dad has to take y'all to school!!!!!...Get Up!!!"

I live in Frisco. Power is on, house is warm, and I have open bars in short walking distance. My car does are iced shut, sooooo, beer is the only option to kill the boredom.

I'll check the apartment facilities tomorrow to see if they can get the CUSA title game on their big screen.

No bars within 1.5 miles of me. I'm pretty crazy, but I don't know about walking that far down the street in < 20 degree temps.

I moved my Expedition to the street last night I have big trees but all good so far, I keep them trimmed.

Power must have flickered this morning, I got up at 6:30 confirmed our office was closed and went back to bed to sleep in. When I woke up all the digital clocks were flashing but I have an old mechanical clock that still showed the current time. So it must have been fast.

Power still out in Irving. Oncor says it should be back by 10:00 am. What really sucks is the other side of the street has power.

Yes, I keep my trees trimmed as well. However, my mature Sweet Gum tree did not fare well in the ice. No amount of trimming would have prevented the issues of nearly an inch of ice overnight. Time to consider cutting it down. Laser beams of branches raining down all over! My front lawn is a sea of branches, leaves, etc. On a positive note, I am looking forward to the bowl and hope it is HOD.
