worse could be using AR stupid classes 7 classifications, during regular season put 7A/6A together then separate for playoffs and take 12/16 teams for playoffs.

Just dumb!!

When I went to HS in the stone ages, only the district champ made the playoffs. Several years our BB team was ranked top 10 in the state, but didn't make the playoffs because they couldn't get past. Dunbar HS, who was a perineal #1 under Robert Hughes.

How times have changed, and not for the better. No more than 2 teams per district. Period. No more inter-classification classifications (I'm looking at you, big school/little school classifications).

2 teams from one district. Period.

I remember back in the early 70's, Dallas Carter upset Dallas SOC to win the district championship. Both teams came into the 8th game of the season undefeated and state ranked. The game was moved to the Cotton Bowl to accommodate the crowd. Carter advanced to the playoffs as the district champ while SOC was left at home; with a 9-1 record. SOC featured Wayne Morris, Parade All-American, All SWC back at SMU and 6-7 year pro with the St Louis Cardinals. We also had Alcy Jackson, All-American and SWC WR at Baylor, Tim Collier, Pro-bowler with the San Francisco 49's.

SOC couldn't advance past Carter the next few years with guys like Roderick Gerald, (starting QB for Woody Hayes @ Ohio St) Ricky Wesson, starting QB for SMU and many other D1 prospect. In fact, SOC had more guys in the NFL than any other school in the country for about 5 years. SOC annually was the runner-up with an outstanding record and state ranked.

Not so sure I understand why Region 2 (5A) remains so loaded with Trinity, Desoto, Coppell, Southlake, Skyline & Allen having to compete against each other prior to the state semi's. Same in Region 2 (4A) in boys basketball when 4-5 schools could win the state title in Austin each year.

The UIL playoffs have been a joke for a number of years now. There were only 4 teams in the 3A district of the Dallas ISD this year. All with losing records on the season. All four made the playoffs. Why do we crown 2 champions in each of the larger classifications? No way McKinney schools, with enrollments of 2,500, should compete with Allen and the Plano schools with 5-6,000 students.

I may like this better than having Class 5A, Division 1 and Division 2, etc. Let's quit letting the largest school in the district have their own playoff and where the participants change every year. One champion for each class, please.
