The NCAA allows teams to have 15 additional practices before playing in a bowl game. This gives the teams a chance to give practice time to young players who may or may not have gotten as many reps in the regular season preparation.

Didn't Coach Mac say there were unlimited practices on one of his shows? Maybe I'm worse off than I thought if I didn't hear that.

He did say that but I wish he would have elaborated on that, because I've always heard the 15 practice rule

"Although there is no specific limit on the number of practices teams may hold while preparing for a bowl game, standard NCAA rules apply for student-athletes participation in practice or other athletically related activities. Same as the regular season, these rules limit practice and other athletic activities to a maximum of four hours per day and 20 hours per week."

So is our team practicing now or do they have to wait for an official bowl invite first?

If not organized practices, can they be "encouraged" to get together as a team on their own for

"unofficial" practices led by our senior football players?

Yes, pre-finals week this week and finals next week (12/9-12/13)

Has dead week been eliminated long enough that there are no longer any students who remember it, thus they don't do the mass complaining if new material is introduced in week 15?
