Bowl-eligible teams

Yeah, UTSA's only shot at upending another eligible team is if they win the conference championship and go to the Liberty Bowl. So if they win, Rice loses, and they win again AT Marshall, they can go bowling.

In other news...anybody else watching Oregon vs. Oregon State? Absolute madness, I tell you...

Now back to your regularly scheduled whatever.

Per Vito sources, a conference title would not override their preliminary status and they would not even go to the Liberty Bowl.

Even with a CUSA championship, they would be forced to sit home.

UTSA not being eligible for a bowl is not a hard concept...also, it's irrelevant how many bowl eligible teams there are. CUSA has direct tie ins. Unless we get passed over for all of those we will be bowling.

I wish it were that simple. Though not really relevant to us this year, some of the AQ conferences have veto power over the bowl tie-ins.

I just learned about this early in the season. I am still trying to understand it. It does not happen very often.

That's kind of funny...sad, but funny.
