It's a bit slow between the sadness of losing to University of Phoenix and preparing to take on Tulsa, so let's talk recruiting. With Tee Goree and his Carthage compatriot on board who is left on your wish list? What player(s) would round out a class that makes you happy?

For me it would be JT Williams the DT from Denton Ryan just because he's a Denton boy, Xavier Washington, DJ Williams from Lufkin, Caleb Chumley, and Payton Hendrix.

If we could flip Nick Orr and bring back Desmond White on top of the above listed guys I'd be ready to give Mac a 10 year extension because he's the best recruiter I've seen.

All the above. Getting Nick would be great to carry on the Orr legacy.

Jeffrey Wilson, running back, Elkhart

JT Williams, defensive tackle, Denton Ryan

Max Martial, JUCO defensive tackle, Iowa Western C.C.

Aaron Jenkins, defensive tackle, Dallas Lincoln

Christian Beard, offensive lineman, Waco midway

Xavier Washington, defensive lineman, Cedar Hill

If we can lock up these guys then we can go try and get some big fish who maybe would not have considered UNT before the year started. But it's nice having commitments from the leading receiver in East Texas and in the DFW.

Christian Beard, Xavier Washington, Willy Ivery, Max Martial, Nehemiah Wagner, Dominique Barnette, Jeffrey Wilson, JT Williams or DJ williams...

peyton Hendrix is a pipe dream, and Caleb Chumley is more than likely out of our reach.

OK so we have done some good work thus far in terms of skill positions, linebackers -- but as we all know the months of December and January are critical for our recruiting classes. These are the months where many of the players who have thought Texas or A&M are realizing that is not in the cards and most of the BCS programs are already set and looking for 2015 commits. The other piece you find are the players who were under the radar that blow up in their senior seasons.

The great thing about this time is that you have an opportunity to land some big time talent. It can be harder to hold onto but it also can impact the program tremendously.

In terms of what we need, I would say that the remaining 10 +/- spots need to go to defensive linemen and multi purpose athletes with speed. In addition, if you can get a big time player at any position, ie like a stud offensive tackle or tight end etc you take them. Should be fun to finally recruit players with a winning record and bowl game in your back pocket.

I'm afraid that the players listed are about the best that we can do (and some of them are over our head). There are a few that are waiting on a particular school but if they don't get it they hold numerous other AQ offers. There are also a few that haven't qualified academically I'm sure but there's no guarantee if they'll be available.

Defensive linemen are the most wanted commodity and the good ones are taken. There are a couple of good defensive ends (Washington and Jerard Carter) still on the board but the remaining tackles are undersized. Quality athletes are pretty well picked over as well.

Most of those mentioned in this post are quality players and have three to ten offers. Those with more than ten offers likely won't fall to us. The other area that could help us is 'under the radar' players that blossomed this year. They mostly show up at playoff time when you find those key seniors who keep their teams alive. Hopefully, some of those are defensive linemen.

Due to our success (a new conference and a winning season) we should have better success with our early offers. This class won't be outstanding, except for receivers, but each successive class should improve for awhile.

1-2 years max.

No inside info but I'd place a small wager that an extension for Mac will be announced between the Tulsa game and the bowl game. I'd guess it would be for 3 years which makes it a five year contract from now.

Collin Kilcrease from Whitesboro

He had 2,333 yrds rushing as a Jr. (over 1000 by the 5th game)

He was hurt most of this year and missed some games with 2 sprained ankles.

I saw their first playoff game 2 weeks ago and he rushed for over a hundred yards but he was really limping pretty bad.

Big and very fast.
