What if that is simply a factual statement? If the guy is the fundraiser people say he is, I doubt he's clueless about the value of collegiate athletics as part of keeping alums connected to their alma mater. Besides, being from UNLV, I'd think it's possible he may have an idea or two about basketball, even if he couldn't double their former coach's salary to match what Oklahoma offered. You should be interested in that. I say, give this new prez a chance.

Not saying a thing bad about the new president, just don't put any stock into what a coach says on a radio show immediately after the prez is appointed is all.

He may be the greatest thing since sliced bread. He may not. Time, and more importantly, actions, will tell.

Prez Smastrek is very pro athletics and very pro community. He knows UNT is not in a one horse town but also knows how to bring excellent visibility to the university athletics included.
