The best way to get over one game is to come out on top in another.

Taking a queue from our fearless leader, it's now been 24 hours and attention should turn to Tulsa (3-8 overall, 2-5 CUSA).

1:30 PM start time with highs in the 50s and lows in the 40s.

3 wins:

Colorado State

UTEP

LaTech.

8 losses:

Bowling Green

Oklahoma

Iowa State

Rice

Tulane

UTSA

ECU

Marshall

The current line sits at UNT -5/12.

I would say Tulsa is one of the teams we need to repay from the Dodge era, but we also need to repay them for the Dickey era as well. We have quite a history with Tulsa and we have a long way to go to evening up the series with them. This will be our last opportunity to play against Tulsa for sometime as they are moving on to the AAC next season. Their fans have always been very welcoming and one of the classiest groups I, personally, have ever run into. Happy to be in a conference with them, even if it is only for one year.

I was making designs to travel to see us clinch the west division, but as we all know sometimes things don't work out as planned. Time to make lemonade.

Despite the loss to UTSA, we still have one of the top defenses in school history which should come in handy in this game. I'd really like to see the offense get back in sync before these seniors round out this campaign in whatever bowl game we get invited to. Tulsa has historically been a very physical team when playing us, no reason to expect any different this go round.

Yes, the 24hr rule. Some of our most recent visitors seem to be unable to move on. I'm trying to assist them. Once they have figured it out, I will complete paying off my wager.

Their pass game has struggled all year long. They started off with Nebraska transfer, last year's starter, senior Cody Green at qb but he continued to be inneffective. He was inneffective last year but it was masked by their solid team and running game.

Since then they have moved on to redshirt freshman qb Dane Evans. Evans is from Sanger and I actually played some little league baseball with him before when he lived in Arlington (I know, cool story bro). He's got a strong arm and isn't a dual threat but can scramble. He hasn't been great either, throwing for just 4 tds and 10 picks.

They want to rely on their running game and their two senior running backs. Both Trey Watts and Jaterian Douglas, of Arlington Lamar, have run for over 2000 yards in their careers and are dangerous. Watts has run for 1215 yards this year as their main guy, but Douglas is a home-run threat who can't be taken lightly.

If we can keep their running game in check we should be fine. However, our offense needs to come out and prove that they aren't the weak link.

What you call "assisting them" I call "being a poor loser"

Please represent NT fans better than this. We're all talking about a game played by 20yr olds, after all.

Tulsa's losses are to decent teams. If losing to the University of Phoenix on Saturday didn't pull our heads out of our asses then we are in line for more disappointment.

Have we EVER beat Tulsa? Ever? Have we ever even come within 40 points of them? Ever?

It seems like you could take a couple shortbus kids from the local middle school, slap golden helmets on them, and they'd beat us by 50.

I didn't think the chicken farm rejects would beat us. I was worried about Tulsa. Still am. Even more so now.

People should complete whatever wager they entered into, but opposing fans should leave shortly after a game is played. I hope our fans are way more classy on opposing message boards. I personally don't visit opposing teams boards so I guess I don't know.

The last time unt beat Tulsa was 1968.

Since then we have lost 10 straight to them.

The only one of those losses we were favored in was in 2005 at home when we were favored by 1 and got a safety on the first series. From that point forward, we did not score again and Tulsa went on to roll up 54 points. That was the beginning of the end for dickey and our run of conference titles if I remember correctly.
