Saturday sucked. However, it was not an earth shattering loss. Win against Tulsa and you finish the season 8-4. There should be no complaints to that.

We needed one loss to be eligibe to receive an invitation to the Heart of Dallas Bowl instead of getting locked into the Liberty Bowl.

As much as I hate to lose any game, this is better than the interuptions caused by a December 7 trip to Greenbough, NC and having to lose there to avoid the Liberty.

We are now on course for a New Years Day date in the Heart of Dallas Bowl in the Cotton Bowl Stadium. That is, and always has been, the best case scenario for North Texas this season.

The athletic department needs to work with the university and the City of Dallas to create the biggest New Years Eve party possible in the Dallas West End complete with outdoor stage for cheerleaders, dance team, Green Brigade, and to promote this party to the North Texas students and alumni. There's more than a month to plan, it should be done correctly.
