First despite a terrible game we somehow manage to claw back to the 2-yard line with a free play to possibly tie at the end???

And the announcer calls the game over and the cannon fires when we clearly have a a first down with 2 seconds on the clock???

Refs seemed in shock...

And all due respect to UTSA - they flat beat us... but

omigosh...DT could have easily just run a draw and scored...needed a two-point conversion but still that game was there for the taking DESPITE a poor offensive and uncharacteristic defensive performance...such a golden opportunity wasted...

We have got to get out of the stubborn habit of trying to run the ball on most first downs... UTSA seemed to know when we would be running the ball and they left receivers wide open at times or with big cushions...

And why do we ALWAYS start so slowly on offense. There's no sense of offensive urgency in this game until we were down by two TD's...

It was one second left on the clock which didn't make sense because the clock had to run. It almost impossible for the ref to set the ball and for UNT to be able to snap the ball. The clock never started until UNT snapped the ball which was also incorrect. It didn't matter but it would have have been controversal if it had.

Nah it's not impossible, it happens quite often. Clock starts when ball is set, if a team is ready to snap they can, that's why refs stand over the ball and move out of the way to blow their whistle an start the clock.

The game clock takes the status it would have had if the penalty did not occur. If it would have been stopped otherwise (out of bounds, incompletion, etc) the clock starts on the snap. If not, it starts on the ready.

To be technical, UTSA probably should have gone penalized for rushing the field when there was still time on the clock. Not a complaint, just another oddity that stemmed from that wack ending.

That is what he said isnt it? I thought that was weird. Then he comes back and says after further the review the play stands as called,... But NT recovered the damn thing.

Harry, come on...you're know that Dan McCarney is a "dance with who brung ya" kind of coach. We didn't get this far passing first, then running.

It is not going to change. And, if it puts us in position to be in the conference title hunt year after year instead of being at the bottom of the standings, I say let Dan have his way.

You forgot the last drive where we had just gotten a first down around UTSA's 40 and the refs not only did not stop the clock, but kicked the ball 10 yards downfield, slowly jogged after it to get it and respot it, the whole time with the clock running. Lost 10 to 12 seconds right there.

Should have had 2 shots from the 2 yard line.

Also, the ref had a 10 second conversation with the DB after the pass interference no call, clearly warning him not to do it again. WTH?
