Considering we were the only school offering him at QB when he decommitted from TCU who recruited him as a receiver, allowing him to play as a true freshman as a likely progression towards being the starter as a sophomore is as good a situation as any true freshman could walk into. If the understanding was that he was going to be the starter year one, we wouldn’t have gone after Poffenbarger the way we did.

If he is as good as advertised, and I guess he is, why is he coming here right out of high school ?

Ever since college football introduced a four-team playoff a decade ago, analysts and armchair quarterbacks had salivated over the prospect of adding more teams to the mix.
When the sport announced an expanded postseason bracket for this season—with first-round games held on snowy campuses in December—fans were positively drooling.
