I'm not sure about this hire. Being pro-athletics in Nevada or any other state is one thing but this is Texas and he has ties to Texas(ut) and I remember the last three individuals who worked for UNT with ut ties and it was BAD. Helwig, Trilli and Dodge darn near distroyed our program. I don't like the hire at all but I hope for the best for our University. It shouldn't take long to know his true feelings about UNT, both academics and athletics. If you see orange showing up anywhere on campus................................

You're going down a slippery slope there with the generalizations, just because he has ties to UT like other people who didn't work out doesn't mean he will have the same outcome. You have to look at individuals, and if I stop you at "Being Pro-athletics," that's a good enough start for me.

Ok, flip side to that argument. If he has tu ties, couldn't he lobby for us to get into the Big12-2 if our success were to continue?

Right, because UT has supported improvements at NTSU UNT so many times throughout history.
