I haven't seen any uptick in recruiting despite the great season NT has had so far. Obviously, it takes time for recruiting to turn around; but I would have thought NT would be doing better this year with the new conference, great facilities and success on the field.

I really don't want to start another value of the recruiting ratings debate. Because it is endless, but here is where NT is:

Rivals: Doesn't thank much of anyone in CUSA but counting the few three star rated players they have listed at this time:

Rice 4

Old Dominion 3

Marshall 3

La Tech 1

USM 1

Everyone else in next years CUSA 0

ESPN

Old Dominion 7

Marshall 6

Rice 6

USM 6

WKU 5

NT 5

La Tech 3

UAB 2

UTSA 2

You can argue validity of agency ratings, regional bias, etc., but how is NT behind Old Dominion and USM. A complete newbie and a team with a two year losing streak?

Granted, there are much more important issues out there like winning out; but at least this is a current comparison of the conference recruiting. I think NT will move up, so at least this is a reference point.

It already has. Almost every commit so far has had FBS offers and not just offers from military academies, we have beat out some good schools. There are still a bunch of uncommitted players out there who I think we have a strong chance to land. Sure, we haven't landed any 4* defensive lineman, but we're winning battles we haven't won in the past and will finish this class out strong once these guys take their official visits.

Have we not see that the obvious value is in development and coaching over the last year alone. The system is in place... Bring in kids with work ethic and potential, redshirt them, and then develop develop develop. Stars on signing day sell the sizzle. The work year round is the steak baby.

I won't lie. The second I see us sign more stars, I will get excited. However, I also have faith that the kids coming in will fit together and build the whole puzzle.

Great post and I agree wholeheartedly!
