I know we have put together a pretty decent class for 2014 so far, but how much better will it get? WHEN we win our last two games does it put us over the top with recruits? Does the Desoto pair jilt the frogs? Do the Carthage wideouts jump onboard? Wil we get 3-4 D-Linemen like Xavier Washington to sign so we can replenish this defense? How heavily can we capitalize on this momentum?

When we win we should be able to get at least a few of these players you speak of. I feel that we will not drop off much next year and I believe everyone else feels the same. We have something to offer these kids. A great coach, the best facilities, quality education, and a newly winning program. Kids will eat this up and jump on board. Just watch!

I think a lot of eyes are on us right now. Hey look it's been a great season regardless of how these final games play out. I think if we win out and get to the conference championship game things shift to a whole new level...a level we haven't seen here. Step 1 UTSA. Vegas is calling us 8 point favorites at home. This is a huge game and they will be ready.

Because of our recent success, I will be really disappointed if we drop the next two. Why? Because North Texas controls it's own destiny. For us to be up against two beatable opponents and not take advantage of it... well it could hamper spirit, maybe even the growth of the program. We may not have an opportunity like this again. I've been a fan long enough to have that sense of impending doom. When will the other shoe drop? That's what the past decade of football has done to me. I think it's extremely important we take care of business the next two games.

I have to agree.... Following this program since 2000 and one thing that our recent years have taught me is that something else is going to happen... always seems to.

I do have confidence in this team however, haven't seen anything like it in years.

I can't get the nightmare scenario out of my mind. I'm almost too worried and it's only Monday...3:30 AM

Please don't make the mistake of saying you are "worried" around here... UNT90 and his minions will horse collar you and break out the steel tipped whip for any signs of weakness!

Not only are we having a great season with success but I you add a fiery Mac who is trying to recruit you I think that will only benefit us well. But again there is still business to be dealt with this season and it's very very important to keep on winning to further sell the program to recruits.

All that we've done will be for naught if we lose to UTSA. I've already gotten made fun of at work for us *playing* UTSA even though we just got props for Rice. If we lose, I may have to quit. Will be the same thing for recruits.

We have plenty of momentum going in recruiting right now and we have had a lot of visitors, juniors and seniors, at our home games this year. And we've won all of our home games so that helps.

As for the Carthage boys, we lead for Tee Goree, the 6'2" receiver with 22 tds, and he will be announcing his commitment a week from tomorrow. We are in good shape for him and his 6'4" teammate and they would be absolute icing on the cake for our terrific receiver class.

Also, we will be able to sign up to 27 kids this year. This includes Oregon transfer Anthony Wallace. Since we only signed 23, 2 signees short of the 25 "limit," last year we can sign 2 more than the 25 "limit" as long as at least 2 signees enroll for this spring. That would be Wallace and early high school graduate Connor Means. We only have about 23-24 scholarship spots open currently but in the event that a few kids quit or transfer we could sign up to 27.

Finally, with regards to the DeSoto boys, Nick Orr is a soft verbal to TCU and if they finish the season 4-8 and are sitting at home while we go to a conference championship and bowl game, we may have a good chance to snag another Orr.

We do not train to be merciful here. Mercy is for the weak. Here, in the streets, in competition: A man confronts you, he is the enemy. An enemy deserves no mercy.

The other thing that would help would be for us to reup Mac to a contract extension as well as the assistants. That would let parents know that he was going to be here for all four, five years that their kids were here. That's really really important for us almost as much as winning. We need to show stability.
