Yeah, East Texas is pretty rich in talent. Getting a hold of that area over La Tech is monumental. 2 is better than 1. We need about 10 solids going into the season to keep a little pressure off of the staff so they can do their primary job and coach.

Most of his highlights have no help over the top and running a 4.4 doesn't make one "athletic". Just to clarify not saying the guy isn't the most athletic but simply listing someone's height and weight with a spare 40 time and suggesting that makes him the most athletic is silly.

Brooks was a 3* on 247's composite rating before 247 issued their rating. Their own rating of 77 pulled him below the 80 mark. Other than being underweight he seems to be quality in every other respect. He's a good get.

Wait ... is this in response to my earlier post about Justin Dunning?

While Whitehouse’s hearts were heavy with disappointment, the Wildcats had a remarkable run in the tournament. Led by defensive backs Justin Dunning, a Texas A&M commit, and Nate Brooks, a North Texas commit, Whitehouse stymied its opponents.

“We built good team chemistry. (7-on-7) helps us DBs with our technique. It’ll help the offense continue to improve as a unit,” Brooks said. “Everybody is sleeping on us because we’re after Pat (Mahomes), but we’re going to shock a lot of people. I’m hoping we can win district and make it to the fourth or fifth round.”

Just for the record, Justin Dunning, who BigDanTeague mentioned, had a season-ending injury and did not play last season. So he wasn't in Brooks' junior highlights.

He played the first two games, but yes, you are correct.

I just wanted to make sure somebody wasn't saying that Nate Brooks is more athletic than Justin Dunning, who was one of the best defensive players at The Opening this past week.

Rated a 3-star on ESPN with a grade of 71.

For the record, 4 of our 5 defensive back commits are rated 3-stars. Ashton Preston on Scout and ESPN, Zavian Bingham on Scout, and Nate Brooks and Taylor Robinson on ESPN.

On Harry's posting, click on the Dave Campbell's Texas Football report on the "7 on 7" round up.

Scroll down to the 3rd paragraph from the bottom.

East Texas 7 on 7 Report-

Rodney Bendy was "impossible to cover"

Good report on Bendy's teammate WR Nick Cain, who is "a absolute burner"

Maybe the staff should check on Nick Cain too.

How long have you been looking at UNT recruits?

Is it safe to say this is one of the best DB hauls we've had in a while?
