If C-USA holds true to historic form, Championship Game tickets should go on sale next weekend.

In previous years, teams that had a chance of hosting the game were allowed to sell tickets to season ticket holders two weeks before the game.

I think our only shot to host would be :

Marshall lose to FIU , then beat ECU

We might not move up the rankings even if we win last 2. We may even drop , like we did after the UTEP game

Does Marshall's close win against Tulsa drop them?

I thought point differential was irrelevant. I think they just factor in your wins, losses, and strength of schedule. I could be wrong. I thought they factored in point differential in the past

All that has to happen for us to host is for NT to win out and for Marshall to beat ECU. Marshall's SOS will only get a boost from playing (and hopefully beating) ECU and will not be enough to make up the 30 or so spot lead we have over them in the BCS.

Marshall will beat ECU.

It is the year of the Green, after all.

Since the game is at Marshall I agree. Will be interesting to see how ECU does against NCST. ECU is better but hopefully they lay an egg. Not sure if that would drop them enough in the BCS to matter though.

So this is what putting the cart before the horse reads like...

It's silly to characterize this as putting the cart before the horse. These are scenarios clearly predicated upon us winning out, which considering the last decade we've experienced, very few people consider to be a given.

Not really. Tickets need to be sold early for season ticket holders. Sale to the general public would happen after we confirm that we will host.

Assuming we are in the championship game a week before the biggest make or break game of the season, followed by a team that is down yet generally beats the crap out of us is a bit premature. Then to assume anyone is really worried about season ticket holders when additional variables exist in the east is premature as well and both the aforementioned and silly. Y'all remind me of the folks wearing Buffalo Bills Superbowl Champions gear in the 90s. It all went to Goodwill. Hopefully our team doesn't have this delusional feeling it's a lock. Not lecturing but we UNT fans need to tread lightly and take it week by week.

The best thing that could happen other than NT winning out would be ECU losing to North Carolina State. ECU although favored should have a rough time playing there and a lost to a 3-7 club should kill their ranking. If that happened NT should assuming they win the next two get the championship game no matter who wins the ECU/Marshall game.

Although we are ranked ahead of Marshall now, ECU is substantially ahead of us and if Marshall should win that contest that could very well vault them past us. Which all boils down to...why not wait until we know where the championship game will be played before buying tickets?

That's a lot of space to make up, particularly because they will drop after playing FIU. We may drop a tad after playing UTSA but not as much.
