Also, to compare the last 100 years is irrelevant. UTSA has only been in existence since 1969.

You're right. It's impossible to compare a program that's been playing college football since 2011 to one that started in 1913.

End of the day, none of the numbers are in UTSA's favor, both historically and this season. Their bare-win over Tulane is their one point in this whole mess. I know their fans want a win, but the odds look extremely slim for that win.

Technically, UTSA is still transitioning to become an FBS team (full FBS status in 2014). So, given that fact, UTSA has already beaten several FBS teams, and the one FBS team with a winning record (in beating Tulane)... all while not being a full-fledged FBS team itself.

I'm sure you guys might not be capable of grasping this (judging by your constant display of immaturity), but this team hasn't even had its inaugural senior class yet. This team is mostly juniors with a few seniors, and a few underclassmen on the field. Chew on that for a bit.

Wait, really? All trolling aside, I thought you were full FBS CUSA eligible for bowls, conference championships and shady sportsbook spreads. You're still transitional?

The reason I ask is that when Western Kentucky was transitional, and they were our sole victory in 2008, it didn't count as a conference win. I'm genuinely confused that you would be eligible to win a conference, but not to play in a bowl.

Wiki confirms what you've said, but I'm still somewhat incredulous.

Yes, eligible to win conference championship this year... not technically fully bowl eligible until 2014 (however, there is an outside shot we can get a bowl game this year, most likely if we finish 7-5... against an ALL FBS schedule I might add).

UTSA has dropped 90% of their games against FBS teams with a winning record.

I'll also add that if we finish 7-5, and either La Tech or Tulane beats Rice (I'm thinking La Tech has a shot as they've been trending upward as of late) and UNT wins out (besides losing to us), we will be in the CUSA Championship game this year.... rematching Marshall or facing ECU for the first time.

I wouldn't put it past Tulane to finish with a 6-7 record. UTEP is bad but Tulane has an abysmal offense. I also expect Rice to beat Tulane at this point in the season. If Tulane were to go against in-state rival ULL I expect Tulane to lose that game as well.

I'm not quite ready to give you full credit for a win against a FBS program with a winning record.

Maybe you guys can ask your daddy if you can take the burnt orange out of your color scheme?

I mean, since you are all grown up. Or are you?

I mean... I think I am all grown up. I don't know. Let me ask my daddy... He said yes, I am grown up.

Should I apologize that my school is young? Should I be mad that your school is older? Should we cry about it together? Sorry, I didn't really understand your trash talk.

As for the UT jab, what should we do... close up shop because we are under the UT Sytsem? Since we have had our colors for some time, I see no reason to change them. Also, I may not be an artist, but I am pretty sure that our shade of orange would not be considered burnt. Again, not an expert, but I am not color deficient and I see just plain orange. But kudos on the smack talk...

I do have a gripe though. Are we not grown ups (see what I did there) or what? Do you guys really outlaw cursing on this site? I am not one to fling F-Bombs here and there, but occasionally a strong Nasty word gets your message across? Just curious...

So in the past 2 years... UNT has won 10 games to date against FBS teams (4 against winning teams) and UTSA has won 10 games (1 against winning teams (also a team that beat UNT)) UTSA averages more in attendance than UNT as well.

Soooo... Please quit acting like you are world beaters and exponentially better than us. You have history we don't... cool. We may get our asses kicked, but all of your "Statistics" and "history" gets a big DGAF because it doesn't mean anything. We have talent to compete as does UNT. Get. Over. It.

A young UNT90 (For the sake of the story we'll call him Sally. Such were the wishes of his parents) sits alone in a park, under the watchful eyes of his parents, building facilities he has always dreamed of. Sticks and twigs make up the rather large facility designed to support a future University of North Texas Football team.

"What are you building Sally?" his mom asks sternly.

"A stadium for all of my football players!" answers a suddenly bewildered Sally.

"Son, what have I always preached to you and Mommy about?" his father demands.

Sally stares blanking back at his disapproving father already knowing the consequences of his mistakes.

"IT HAS TO BE ON CAMPUS SALLY!!!" screams his father. His father now has a bulging vein on the side of his right eye. It grows green and pulses as a young Sally cries and pleads his father not to put him in the dark room again. Sally's pleas have gone unheard as the rage of his father has become uncontrollable. His mother falls to her knees knowing their frail little boy may not survive the night.

Hours later Sally is staring into a pitch black room. He's been here before and knows the despair the next 24 hours will bring. He knows the quickest way through it is to sleep and work through his past mistakes to make Daddy happy. He falls asleep surprisingly quickly. He dreams of miraculous on campus stadiums and impressing daddy by persecuting those without them. The desire in his dream become more lurid and creepy as the hours pass. Sally unknowingly prematurely ejaculates to visions of grandeur and images of a winged shape stadium at the endzone of his stadium. He dreams of putting down and condemning others in a virtual community that doesn't exist yet just like his father would do.

Lights flash as the door to the dark room opens. Sally awakes as 24 hours have come and gone in an instant. Sally rises to his feet, pants still wet from his accident, and greets his dad. He walks toward the light reborn. He is no longer Sally. On this day in Denton in 1990, UNT90 is born.

Why wasn't the thread locked after this retort?

We won.

This thread was won over a dozen pages ago now.

It's become like a football game that was realistically over after the first quarter and now we're just playing out the string...the home team has the second and third teamers out there, but to their credit the feisty visitors are still throwing the football and calling all their timeouts...trying to add a few cosmetic points to a lop-sided scoreline.

hmm...rather an apt metaphor, I suppose...

Although our brief history a much greater slope than yours. Its not UTSA's fault UNT diddled itself in obscurity for 90 years.

We've had 48 seasons (not including this year) where we had a winning record when there were at least 8 games in the season. There's no denying that we never made it into the SWC back in the 70s but we have won a couple games over the years.

There is no reason to think you can't be competitive at this point in your program.

It's really not that different a situation that we are in. We might not have started from scratch 3 years ago, and all apologies to the seniors who have battled through much adversity, but we weren't far off from starting from zero with the condition todd dodge left us in...

Everyone rebuilds, gets blown up and rebuilds again. Windows open and close, even at established institutions. Look at Tulsa and southern miss.

What happened to Mexican food and cakes/pies brackets?

I was actually reading the opinions of people I actually care to hear from on relevant topics, and getting pointers on places to try in Denton.

The history of UTSA VS UNT? Are some folks really discussing that?

Somewhere Harry is laughing (to the bank?) at the "rivalry" he has fostered.

Thanks alot Harry. :glare:

The lady doth protest too much.

For all you UTSA grads out there, that's Shakespeare.
