Big point wins against UTSA and Tulsa....and maybe. But loosing to Ohio and Tulane hurt us in the rankings. If we were 9-1 right now, I think we would be ranked right now.

But regardless of what should have been, we are in a HAPPY PLACE right now.

So now you want to get picky over where the votes come from? Unbelievable.

I don't think he cares where they come from, just doesn't think they'll come from another conference. Most would probably use their 1 point to help their own conference but maybe one of our OOC opponents might use it to boost their SOS standings, who knows...

No shot at top 25 unless NT wins out including the bowl game

Off the subject a little, but looking at the Massey ratings (not the composite) and NT went down 3 spots after beating UTEP and ECU went up 7 places after beating Tulsa. So in this one poll, NT lost 10 sports to ECU after being real close last week.

It appears that if NT wins the East, the only way to get the championship game in Denton is for ECU to lose which could happen. They still have to play their big rival Marshall, and a bad North Carolina team on the road.

I actually think they play NC State.

Is the question can NT get votes or get ranked??Yes, NT can get a couple of votes without question. Winning the CuSa title game will get a couple of votes, IMO.

Now getting ranked will require winning the bowl game as well.

10-3 will get votes. 11-3 will get a top 25 finish.

Sadly, I think 9-3 doesn't get anything. 10-3 will get a vote or 2. 11-3 will get several votes. I think the only way we can crack the top 25 would be a Liberty Bowl (SEC opponent) or HoD Bowl (Big10 opponent) win by a huge margin, and I'm just not sold on our offense putting up those kinds of numbers against a bowl-caliber SEC or Big10 team.
