For me it was 2001 versus the MUTS. We beat a "sexy" Blue Raider team and got the ball rolling for 26 straight conference wins and 4 bowl games. Oddly enough, due to bad weather the night before, the bonfire was held after the FB game. It felt very symbolic for some reason.

When it comes to tomorrow's game, it feels like there is a little bit of extra electricity in the air; like something magical is about to happen.

Agree, that was a really fun game. We weren't supposed to win, but you could just feel the momentum build as the game went on.

I hope that we will get some similar memories from this one, but we aren't exactly playing a team on the upside of their potential.

The Florida State game that finished in the snow in about '68 (?). (Note: We scheduled FLORIDA STATE as a homecoming opponent. This shows far Florida State has come since that time. NT can do that same thing.

Another memorable HC game was in the rain against Southern Mississippi in a pouring rain storm. This Southern Miss team was coached by Bobby Collins the season before he took over at Southern Meth.

Beat UTEP.
Then, beat everybody else.

The Florida St. game that you're talking about was 1976 (ll-13-76). The So. Miss game was 1981...I think.

'68(?) North Texas vs Cincinatti. Ramsey to Barry Moore lite up the scoreboard.

If that was the game that took place in a monsoon, it was one of the best NT games of all time. NT came back from a big deficit in the first half, to win in a rain that they would not enough consider playing in now.

I'd also have to go with that 2001 MTSU game. The thing I remember the most is willing that clock to move faster as the last few minutes ticked away. I never really felt like we'd actually hold on....felt like a miracle considering our respective records.

My favorite is still my first. It was 1976 against Florida State. I was a freshman from Edinburg and down there at the time no one had ever heard of Florida State. It was Bowden's first year. We went 6-5 on the field with close loses to UT, Okie St and Miss st. NCAA made Ms St later forfiet so the record books read a 7-4 season.
