With Benny's HS recruits all leaving after their freshman year of school.... Sucks we'll never get to see this guy play.

Are you saying you will be coming to the games this year?

I'm sure I sneak into 4 or 5 of the marquee matchups to check out the new Pit improvements.

If you need tickets, I hear they have a handful left in the good sections if you call ASAP.

Recruiting ineligible players is obviously the players fault. I mean, they should tell these coaches that they don't deserve to go to college.

Can these coaches really be expected to check transcripts and ask questions of these kids? I think not!!

Wesley is probably also sleeping with coeds at UNT!!! Can you believe it!!!! That has probably affected his basketball talent, a la TM last year.

Them damn coeds!!!

When will these kids learn that they have ALL the responsibility of UNT basketball on their shoulders!!!!!!!!!!!11!!11!!!

If Greg Wesley had just made a phone call all of this could have been cleared up.

I don't think anyone ever put ALL the responsibility on the players.

But, several here put NONE of the responsibility on the players.

Besides Wesley, is Keith Coleman the ONLY high school recruit from Benford's first 2 classes that is still with the team (beside Wesley, who won't be playing)?

Just wow.

Apologist take note. This will KILL this program for the next several years.

Pretty unbelievable that this has been allowed to happen at a major (??) university.

We are headed back to the Trilli days, but without the Trilli level recruiting. We may be looking at some 3-5 win seasons before someone finally decides to do something about this.

Question for you 03, if Wesley chose to transfer to a JUCO at the semester break, would he be eligible to play in the Spring semester for said JUCO? If so, and we lose the appeal like we always do, I bet this is what happens.

I'm not sure. I would think so , but I'd have to dig thru the rule book

And several put NONE on the coach or the AD who hired the coach.

Perhaps you can enlighten us all as to who these folks are that you refer to as placing no blame on the coach and/or AD. For me, I have consistently posted that the blame is shared, and I recall no poster placing 100% of the blame on the players. Perhaps you only read what you "think" is said.

Would be pretty easy to name those who place ALL the blame on the coaching staff and AD so that is probably not needed.

Waiting......

And, still waiting for you to enlighten us all as to what age you believe young men and women are in any way responsible for their own actions as you have consistently stated that 18-21 year olds are "just kids" and are in no way responsible for anything.

Hey Kram,

It seems that the bolded above is lip service from you as your arguments always tend to go against the players. Maybe you mean 'shared' like in a 99%-player & 1%-coach kind of way?

I don't think I've ever seen anything critical from you about Benford & his staff. And I've seen you qualify this lack of blame with something along the lines of, "He's employed by our university, so I support him."

Read it anyway you want. I know what I have posted and what I have said over and over again in private...including to none other than UNT90. You believe what you want. No way you are going to change your mind.

Re-read the posts. Try to understand...OR NOT, but stop the crap-ola about folks, and especially me, blaming only the players. That's your game along with UNT90 and a few others. If you don't think players are in ANY way responsible for their play and actions both on and off the floor, well, please consider never having any kids of your own. :-)

And, I will support each and every coach employed by UNT while they coach for this university. My support for this university is in no way contingent upon who is the HC, the AD or any other staff member. You play it your way, I'll play it mine, but don't try to tell me what I have posted and what I have said just so it fits your...or anyone else's personal agenda. My support is for this university and it is not conditioned upon personnel.

Couldn't all of this have been said in a phone call? I hear that clears up everything.

It certainly could have...given that the proper questions were asked and there was no personal agenda in trying to mislead. Great idea. John probably has my number already.
