So do these jokers put Rice above North Texas next week? Yeah, they probably will find some justification for it. A thorough pummeling and demoralization of Rice will somehow be a fluke, and they'll still be stronger, right? Because something something little ole' North Texas? Who just put a severe hammer on Rice? Can't wait to see what they've got to say.

I keep reminding myself that these polls don't really mean anything but, recruits base their decisions in large part on perception and these polls tend to impact perception.It seems to me that he Dallas news media conspires to ignore NT's existence and it would not surprise me if they continue to publish their own little self-serving ranking system that indicates SMU to be a superior football program this year.

Oh, I think we could take TCU on this season and beat them with this team.

I would honestly love to see that match up in a local bowl.... how awesome would that be?

It would be the kind of game with a 10-6 final score. TCU's offense is abysmal. Their defense is probably better than advertise, but our defense is dialed-in right now.Be a fun one, but alas, TCU will not see a bowl game this season.

If I had to rank the Texas teams right now, I'd look at it like this:

There's:

1. Baylor

2. A&M

Then there's the rest:

3. Texas/Houston/Tech - in any order, doesn't matter at this point

6. NT/Rice - I'd give us the nod for the win, though I think it would be 5-5 if we played each other 10 times.

8. TCU - only because the offense is so... damned... awful.

9. Texas State/SMU , because who cares.

11. UTSA

12. UTEP

If you click on the UNT Mean Green Link to take you b ack to our "home page" on that site they still have the Sun Belt standings listed there. does anyone else find that odd?
