So, the 2 teams I follow the most are North Texas and Maryland- UNT alum, lived most my life in MD.

How awesome would this be for me- latest bowl projection below:

Dec. 27 Military (Washington, D.C.): Maryland (ACC No. 8) vs. North Texas (C-USA)

Would LOVE to see the Mean Green take on the Turtles!!!

How soon do they announce officialy which bowl you will be in for sure?

The day after all of the conference championship games (so that Sunday) all of the bowl matchup a will be announced. Some teams publicly accept their bowl invites before that day so we might know before. We'll at least know by then

If we are passed over by the HoD bowl and have to go anywhere else, I will be shocked. There is just no way that we will bring enough people to DC for this game. It would be a road game against Maryland, basically. If we played Duke in that game, there might be about 5000 people in attendance. The bowl committees don't want that, if it can be avoided. I expect Marshall to play in the Military Bowl, MUTS in the Beef O'Brady's bowl UNT in the HoD Bowl, ECU in the Liberty Bowl, Tulane in the NO BOwl, and RIce will fill in for a Big XII team and get the Houston Bowl.

Whoever wins C-USA goes to the Liberty Bowl (pretty much). So until we are eliminated from that possibility, that needs to be our goal.

SMU money will keep us out of the Heart of Texas Bowl...don't laugh.

Eliminate a CUSA team that can easily travel the largest crowd to a bowl ... yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

HoD Board:

Britton Banowsky, Commissioner, Conference USA
Bob Bowlsby, Commissioner, Big 12 Conference
Jim Delaney, Commissioner, Big Ten Conference
Marcus Edmonds
Kern Egan, Principal, Haymaker/The Richards Group
George Ellis, Chief Financial Officer, The Studer Group
Tara Green, Chief Revenue Officer, American Airlines Center
Jon Heidtke, General Manager, FOX Sports Southwest
Andrew S. Hunt, Chief Executive Officer, The Wav Company
George Killebrew, Executive Vice President, Dallas Mavericks
Judy MacLeod, Executive Associate Commissioner, Conference USA
Monica Paul, Vice President, Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau
Pete Schenkel, Vice Chairman, Dean Foods

The board wants to sell a ton of tickets to the game. They won't care what SMU wants. If we don't win out and make the Liberty, this is where we are going.

SMU won't be bowl eligible. They'll be 5-7 at best. Or did you mean they would do it as part of their anti-UNT grudge? Either way if we have the wins I don't see it happening. Nobody gives a crap about SMU anymore, including half the people at SMU. I think it would be cool if they had more going on, since they're basically the college home team of Dallas, but whatever...we can take up the slack and the extra attention and attendance.

Can't believe we would be in a bowl on the East coast. If we can't play in Dallas, then put us in New Orleans. We would bring in more fans there than Tulane.

I think fan turnout for the bowl is more important than money is ...for UNT right now....hope for HoD bowl ifnot Liberty Bowl !!
