Just have the same feeling I had about the USM game. We beat the S out of MTSU at home, beat a very good Ball St team at home (a much better team than Rice), and have found confidence and a bit of a swagger.

We are playing for bowl eligibility on national TV against a former member of the SWC. And we are going to take them apart.

Relax and enjoy.

Besides, a Harry nipple always soothes (or severely creeps out) what ails you.

Really? Are you going to be incensed if UNT loses this game? Because, it's very possible.

running a play action and throwing the ball deep down the sideline, or middle, or anywhere.

I promise the other team wouldn't be ready because Mac has NEVER done this at UNT.

Except he did this the very first play against USM.

I don't know about the whole 2 yard line thing, but...

I dream of us coming out for the first series, 1st and 10 ball on our own 35, and running a play action and throwing the ball deep down the sideline, or middle, or anywhere.

I promise the other team wouldn't be ready because Mac has NEVER done this at UNT.

Just once. I don't care if its intercepted. It's as good as a punt. And it lets the opposing defense know they can't play the run on every first down.

Just once. Please.

Couldnt have said it any better

I missed the beginning too. We were waiting for our private room which made it worth the wait. Also as soon as I walked to the bar to look for Keith, USM scored so I didn't leave again except at halftime. So I will be watching EVERY SECOND of the Rice game.

Seriously??

That's what I get for missing the first 2 drives of the game.

Yup. From our 2 yd line. It was terrifying and electrifying all at the same time. DT didn't connect and ultimately, on 3rd and 10 from the 2 Byrd had to bounce it to the outside for a 15yd gain.

Very proud of the coaching staff. Lets keep this aggressive thing going and maybe we will just bear Rice by 30

My biggest worry, is the defense getting pulled in the Rice zone read option, with RB Ross 6-1, 230

or RB Peterson, 6-2, 235.

Then a surprise pass over the top to 6 ft 5 in WR Jordan Taylor (a former North Texas recruiting target).

Huge mis-match for our CB's and Safety's.

Taylor leads Rice with "explosive plays of over 20 yards, with 3 TD's".

Laramie Lee likes chopping wood. Taylor may catch a surprise pass over the middle but I doubt he'll want to catch a second.

NT should beat Rice. However, I am not sure they can do it with another slow start. La Tech and USM were very bad, yet both started out relatively well against the Green. NT cannot afford that versus a good Rice team.

I think the key to the game will be to start strong. If we wait until the end, like we typically do with good teams, we may not catch up with Rice. They are a decent team and we are a decent team. Here's hoping to a strong start and an even better finish. Go Mean Green!!
