It was fun getting to watch the young guys get in

This is not a complete listing (so feel free to add) but some of the young players I saw play last night:

Mark Lewis #8 at running back - had a couple of nice runs when we were clearly in run mode.

Rex Rollins #20 -- had a really nice run to the sidelines. shows good speed.

Fred Scott #32 at linebacker -- we will miss Orr but this kid can play!

Andy McNulty -- I though miniMac did a good job overall in burning clock mode

Calvin Wallace - Big #70 broke through a double team on one play I watched.

John Chelf WR -- Saw him make some nice blocks downfield.

The entire second team oline - Truss, Rentfro, McKinney, Micah Thompson, Ellard ALL held their own out there and then some.

Everything I have heard points to Dajon as the front runner for the starting job at QB, but where he is and or what are we doing with him now are questions that remain unanswered? Is he injured and if so what happened? I would have liked to see Dajon get some time in the second half of this game.

Suffice it to say that the defensive replacements didn't allow another score and the reserve offense players, led by Rollins and Mark Lewis, reeled off several nice runs with the defense stacked against them.

Upon further review, WGAS whether we got to see Berglund or Williams, Especially DW, in a situation where handing off was the order of the day. Maybe there's a glimmer of hope that Dajon will get some sort of medical waiver and we wouldn[t want that jeopardized by an appearance in a meaningless quarter.

The most impressive reserve that I saw in this game was Fred Scott. I believe that I'm going to really like this young man next year.

I don't think you saw Williams, because we don't want to burn his redshirt/hardship waiver. Why burn a year for a couple of snaps?

I still think Lewis is going to be something special before he graduates.

As far as McNulty is concerned, I think the discussion when I watched the game with the Georgia alumni is pretty telling. Derek was out with the thumb issue after going over the bench...

Me: "Oh, no...if he even thinks about throwing the ball, this is going to be a turnover."

GA guy: "So what...he's your handoff specialist?"

Me: "Yeah, pretty much."

A few plays later...

GA guy: "Dude, I think your handoff specialist is a better passer than your first stringer."

Me: "Yeah, that's crazy. He is WAY better than he used to be."

As high as we all may be on the idea of Berglund or Williams starting next year, don't count out McNulty if he keeps improving. He may actually have some chops that we didn't expect. So many thought Berglund would transfer in and take Derek out of the starting lineup and were disappointed in the result at first, but it has worked out nicely. I'm not opposed to being pleasantly surprised again next year if AM wins the job over the other guys. IF. I'm not cheering for any over the others right now, I just want the guy on the field to be the one most likely to produce wins.

So you missed the Idaho game, because he played in the final series and did exactly that.... burned a year for a couple of snaps.

The La Tech game was the final game any player could get into and still qualify for a MHW.

So if he's not going the MHW route then there is no reason to not get him in.

Exactly. And if he wasn't in on Saturday, I bet we don't see him at all, unless the worst case scenario happens and we have an issue like we did in '09. That was the best shot for Williams to get in and get some experience, and we got McNulty instead.

MHW it is.

Mccarney is on record saying they will be applying for Medical Redshirt. I thought we have already decided this?

The only variable is whether or not the NCAA grants it...

Nope, watched the Idaho game from my seats in Apogee. You, as well as everyone else, understands that Williams is battling injuries (wink, wink) so that he will qualify for his medical hardship. Playing this late in the year would likely disqualify him from receiving the extra year.

Good. But just an FYI... The conference(C-USA) grants the Hardship Waiver, not the NCAA. Should the conference deny it then an appeal can be made to an NCAA sanctioned committee to overturn it.

One more thing.

Want to see why Drew Miller is in on every snap? Watch him #86, left TE on Thompson's TD at the 1:41 mark of the second quarter. He gets under his man's pads and drives him 4 yards back, 2 yards into the endzone and makes their DE look like a child.

Outside of Y'Barbo,... pound for pound Miller may be the best blocker on that line?
