"Arguably this is the most important game of Coach Bailiff's tenure.

To give some credit to those who criticize the critics (including me), we have won 8 consecutive CUSA games. Only one, however, was over a bowl eligible team (SMU in convincing fashion last year).

Now we have two bowl eligibles over our last 5. Hard to see winning CUSA West without running the table.

If we win this game, we take a big step to winning CUSA west and hosting the title game. Else, we are a 6-3 team with all 6 wins against teams with 3 or fewer wins and ranked 104 or below."

"Post: #5RE: Rice Fan post -- North Texas pre-game thread

The interesting stat for me is this..

http://www.ncaa.com/stats/football/fbs/current/team/460

NT is #1 in all of FBS in fumbles recovered and #2 in turnovers gained. Tulane is #3 (FWIW..Rice is #20).

What that means to me is that they have been fortunate. It is like FAU game for us.

You don't have to beat other team on stat sheet when they give you the football more. How many fumbles or INT's this year for Rice have been b/c the other team did something amazing to force the turnover? They are b/c of Rice mistakes.

For me, we should beat NT. We are a better team that is marginally offset by the home field advantage. If we turn the ball over, we could lose. If we play like we did yesterday, should be an Owl victory.

IMO, Tulane and NT are living on borrowed time w/ all the good fortune other teams are giving them."

Yeah... cause Kansas, FAU, UTSA, New Mexico State and UTEP are considered powerhouse football programs.

We owe these pompous pricks a big scary loss on October 31.
