We took an uplifting trip to Press Elementary School in McKinney yesterday!

To encourage students to aspire to a college education, Press Elementary assigns each classroom a university; the students learn about the university - its colors, mascot, traditions and programs - and wear its colors every Friday. UNT alumna Jessie Rohlmeier's class university it UNT, and the students knew their stuff — they even sang the fight song for us!

UNT Vice President for Advancement Michael Monticino gave each student a UNT T-shirt and souvenirs to help them show their Mean Green pride.

Special thanks to Mrs. Rohlmeier and her "UNT Class of 2027" - you inspire us to work hard for our students!

This is the way you start building a beyond the borders of Denton broad-based fan base. Great job, Dr. Monticino! :thumbsu:

Hope we see some of these kids in the Wing Zone on Halloween Night @ Apogee.

GMG!
