North Texas started off slow and never recovered Sunday in a three-set loss at UT-San Antonio, falling 25-23, 25-19, 25-12.

It was the second time in three days the Mean Green was swept in Conference USA play as it lost at Alabama-Birmingham on Friday. The losses dropped UNT (12-12) to 4-4 in league play.

“Obviously, we are disappointed in how this match turned out for us, but, at the same time, UTSA is a good team and they defended their home court well,” said head coach Andrew Palileo, whose team has this Friday off before heading to Houston to play Rice on Sunday. “The bye comes at a good time for us after a couple road trips, and we will get back to work and prepare for Rice.”
