Very interesting recruit. His side-to-side quickness was amazing. Elite. A couple of times I thought he was going down for sure in the backfield but he would just dance away from the defender and complete a pass downfield.

His pure speed is ordinary by D1 standards. He had a 49-yard TD run, but he almost got caught from behind by two db's. He is certainly fast enough for CUSA, but not a burner.

Before seeing him play, I completely discounted his ability to play QB at the next level because of his size, but if I was Mac, I would certainly give him a look there. And wouldn't be surprised if that is already the plan (although that is probably being kept quiet because if this kid can play QB at the next level he is a Big 12 caliber player.) White is a THROWING QB. His accuracy was unbelievable and his arm was strong. He is just a little small. Not TOO short, but VERY light. He was hard to catch, but I saw him get tackled several times last night by a defender who pulled him down with just one arm.

I would compare White to Riley Dodge: just slightly smaller with a much stronger arm and without the injury history. I could see White contributing as a QB, slot receiver, cornerback or returner.

We definitely need to utilize that kid's arm somehow if we don't make him a QB through trick plays or Wildcat formations. Excited about him.

Let's hope we get some brownie points for being the first to offer

That usually factors in at least a little bit. White is another example of why a big year on the field could be vital for recruiting. Also for a guy like Fonzale Davis who is really drawing a lot of attention from the big boys.

Not saying what will/not happen, but I dont' think Riley was ever injured in HS.

Did White puke before a game winning TD?

Dodge was injured during his senior season iirc. I'm pretty sure he missed two or three games.

I have never seen anyone catch Desmon White from behind in the 3 years that I have followed Desoto football. Last night was no exception. The thing that is so remarkable is his ability to separate himself from the pack; in the open field. I was also at the game last night (Midlothian). What you may be referring to was a DB making up ground from the angle that they had. Not many kids can turn the corner from the middle of the field and out run the secondary. White is both fast and explosive. Don't think a Big 12 program would be interested in a 5-7, 150 pound kid that was not a burner.

I agree about his passing ability. I've actually backed off the thought of him being a full-time QB (despite his impressive stats) but he is more dangerous than just being a wildcat QB.

Saw on twitter that White will be featured on some FoxSports show today at 3:30.

Cornerback Nick Orr left the Mansfield Timberview game early last week and did not play last night (Arm in sling)

Jonathan Graham is moving better on his crutches. (Was in the wheelchair after his leg injury).

Former Lancaster DB (OU commit) will be eligible to play for Desoto in 2 weeks.

Fonzale Davis (SOC) continues to be solid but drops easy passes each game.

SOC Linebacker Silvester Hayes did not dress out again Thursday night. Not sure what the issue is but it is not due to injury.

Hey Cooley, there was some talk after the injury was diagnosed for Graham that he might be back by playoffs. Do you know if that is still a possibility?

I can't see that unless they make a deep run in the playoffs. They don't have a championship defense so I expect someone to knock them off early. They are certainly not better than Allen and someone may get them before Carroll or Coppell.
