If you are "fresh" its better to use precaution - it is Homecoming and I expect the Tech Barneys and ATF guys/gals to be out in force...

You know we've turned the corner when......we are no longer considered Homecoming fodder. If there's a record for the most times a university has played as the opponent in a Homecoming game, we'd own that by a mile. Predicting the corner officially turned on 10/19/2013. GMG!

I've only ever tailgated in the state of Louisiana once -- at LSU -- for baseball. Dear god and mother of all things indecent and foul, but I only vaguely remember being there. I couldn't walk five feet without some dude in yellow and purple shoving a beer and a bowl of red beans and rice in my face. And baseball being baseball, I was there for THREE DAYS!

Moral of the story, between my experience in Baton Rouge, and what I've heard out of Lafayette and Monroe from our Sunbelt days, I really do expect a great time in Ruston. Everything I've seen and heard tells me the entire state is one of the most hospitable in the country.

No, seriously, I freaking LOVE red beans and rice. I mean, I LOVE that stuff. If you threw me on a desert island with nothing to eat for the rest of my miserable life but red beans and rice, I'd be juuuust fine with that.

I had a girlfriend from Shreveport BEFORE it had casinos. Man that place was a dump back then.

So, no, really. Is there a drive-thru daiquiri stand on I-20 between Shreveport and Ruston?

I think there is one on the frontage road between Ruston and Grambling which is like only 3-5 miles apart and try Ponchatoulas for good Cajun food

Any chance we can get the AD to get a bus ride to the game for students ?

Was hoping that this would be the plan -- as it was a bus ride to hot springs in 2012 that really got me on board with loving the Mean Green. Unfortunately I don't see this happening... This bus ride to hot springs was planned out months in advance, and I have yet to hear anything about a bus ride to Ruston.

Also I like this promotion they got for the game :

It will be Scout Day at Joe Aillet Stadium as all boy and girl scouts are invited to attend the game. For only $10 per participant, scouts will receive admission to the game, an exclusive LA Tech Football scout patch, flag ceremony
