Al's has been around since 1974 and has been closed for the last 2 years when the shopping center they were in got scrapped to put a new Walmart in. But now the construction is done and Al's is back and going,

I been waiting the whole time.

Never heard of the place. Where the heck is it located?

This is gonna sound stupid, but was it right outside Love Field in an old, rundown shopping center? I think I ate there once a few years ago. The stromboli looks really familiar.

Yup but the center is not rundown anymore and the pizza shop is in a brand new space

Not gonna lie. Kinda' frightens me a bit that I can look at a stromboli on a plate and tell you where it came from. I think I might eat out too much. (My ex-wife would disagree)

But, will your daughter allow you to eat there?

If any of you come through AZ and want some NY pizza, Young Brothers and Grande Pizza are the best. New York Pizza Dept. is really good, but not quite the greasy and delicious NY style I'm used to...but if you don't like grease, check them out. I'll see if I can hit Al's on my next visit, never tried them before.

If you know good NY style you will really like this place, they even have the shaved Italian Sausage. Which is nearly impossible to get in Dallas, where most places idea of Italian Sausage is somewhere between browned crappy breakfast sausage to something like the consistency of chunks of caned dog food. They are lacking deli sliced Italian meatballs, but they do have shakers of Garlic powder and Oregano.

Surprisingly most of the local chains out here have the good sausage too. NYPD, Rosati's, Fuzzy's...all three use the real stuff. It surprised me because I'm used to pizza places using the crap you mentioned.
