Destination 6 ft under with maggots eating my eyeballs?

From what I understand through things so many people have said to me over the years, I'm going a LOT farther down than six feet.

This is UNT Athletics, you are already there.

Are you sure you have reservations there, did you call ahead to confirm? That's what any good fan would do.

LOL.

The swelling of hypocrisy on here never ceases to amaze me,

Super, another person who "will be damned" if he has to sit on here and listen to passive aggressive jabs..... lol. Is it only for the optimistic people that you would feel the need to call out? So, if you want to be a Debbie Downer and talk about only the things that suck, welcome aboard... But if you have the NERVE to think we still have a chance to make some good things happen this year... ohhh... the horror!!!!!!!! How dare they!?

The attitude that just because you have endured crap past seasons, it entitles you to higher opinion is funny too.

BOTTOM LINE, Scott, is that WE WERE A BETTER TEAM THAN TULANE. EVEN TULANE KNEW IT. How we show up on game days, that's another story. So, you can all save the repetitive posts on how we are 2-3 and the road record for someone else. And yes, I was there. We played like crap. And I don't think we need anyone else to point it out like it's news.

I didn't say we would beat anyone. I said I'd puke if we didn't win. And I did. So, get get yourself a Snickers. I never said we were going to beat La Tech. BUT we are a better team. And maybe.... just maybe... there is a possibility that I may have an insight into that because I do have a family member playing on game days. But, crap... I guess that makes my POV invalid.

And, I'd be obliged to have you point out where I chastised anyone for thinking we wouldn't have a 9-3 record this season. I don't even remember thinking that.

The fact that I repetitively read and respond to the diarrhea that gets slung around this board is kinda funny. You don't have to worry about it being taken too seriously. I had the honor to meet a few posters this past weekend, even 90. And it seems like his dark side lives on this forum. I was expecting an A. So, I'm pretty sure the King of Zings on this forum is aware that my reply was to be taken lightly.

We are a better team than anyone when we beat them. It is quite simple.

You assume too much my dear. I am one of the most positive people you'll meet about our program. ...but I can also SEE what is going on here week in and week out, year in and year out and decade in and decade out. If you REALLY have been paying attention to this team for all the years you've been living in Denton, then you surely can see how those people being cautious have every reason to be doing so! Can I see some good things right now? YOU BET!!! ...have I been seeing SOME good things every year since the last time we went to the NO Bowl. YOU BET! ...have the "I'm seeing good things" translated into success? Not in OVER A DECADE. ...so here we sit. Some part of the team really playing beyond their scouted "talent". Moments of pure greatness. A change to the "we're going to fight EVERY GAME to win" attitude from both coaches and staff.

...yet we continue to struggle week in and week out with the same fundamentals over and over and over and over and over again. It has become a broken record.

I appriciate your family member on the team. ...and you're rooting for him and the entire team. I really do. ...many of us have close connections to players, staff and coaches, and the insight we get from that makes us no more clairvoyant about expecting a win than you were expecting Tulane to be a push-over. To be honest, you being close to a player certainly doesn't make your POV any less valid than anyone else's - but it doesn't make it superior either. ...and your emotional ties to this person MAY even bias you a bit - make the shade of green in those glasses a little darker and harder to ignore.

I LOVE that you are excited about UNT football. I am too. I have been for the better part of 25 years now. ...and win, lose or draw (even in 3-4 overtimes) I've been to every home game and many away games until I suffered a personal tragedy last year, and now I'm back again.

Finally, I'm obliged to point you to the "this Mean Green can win CUSA" thread where you stated in multiple posts that you were convinced Tulane was a win, called a fellow UNT Fan "retarded", said "you guys are all crazy", talked down to anyone with a differing opinion and stated quite clearly that Tulsa was really the only threat you saw for the rest of the schedule. ...seeing as how we had lost 2 at that point, I extrapolated your prediction based on that., and based on the fact that I don't think anyone with more than one conference loss could win the west or the conference, for which you appear (or at least appeared then) to think we are in contention for. I figured 9-3 was your guess.. ...maybe 8-4? Either way, you acted like there were only one or two other teams on the schedule that could even play with us, and acted like ANYONE saying Tulane is a big deal was crazy... ...by saying "you guys are all crazy".

You're a ball of fire. You're passionate. That's awesome. I hope it keeps going after your relative graduates. I SHARE YOUR PASSION! ...but no, when I say "I'll be damned", I don't think it is right for anyone to come in here and berate and act nasty towards someone who is looking at the bigger picture, not just the day to day "We're going to OWN this week" pride and positivity that SHOULD be coming from the locker room, when forming opinions or making judgement calls about where this team is.

...and last week, those who were cautious and telling everyone to tap the brakes who were proclaiming our greatness - were 100% right.

Ultimately, we're both UNT fans. We're on the same side. I'll be out there this weekend, rain or shine, just like you, pulling for this team. ...but I certainly won't be found in here proclaiming ANY team we're about to play is a push-over or a sure-thing.

Have a great weekend. GO MEAN GREEN!!!

Man, I was already over this, but If you are going to quote me, please use the correct context.

If we play half as good as we did today, Tulane... NBD. Yeah. I know. We didn't. Not even for a whole quarter.

Tulane is no Georgia. To even lightly compare is retarded. Nobody is calling anyone retarded here. Again, I find it unnerving that THIS is the kind of comment that you find unacceptable on this forum.

What the hell does it matter what you or anyone else on here's mentality is??? Are you playing the game? Do you have to sharpen your mentality to get ready for the big games? Thats stupid. My mentality gets all hopped up during these kinda games too, but don't act like taking the time to celebrate some successes is going to prevent us from winning in the future.

You guys are all crazy. Im going with the guy that said that most of you probably never played any sport outside of junior high. This conversation is hogwash. HOGWASH, I TELL YOU.

TRUTH BE TOLD, some of you sound like people that bet on games in the past and lost a whole lot of money, therefore hold some major resentments from backlash.

Sorry, not sorry. Yeah, Ummmm... I stand by this statement. Dungeons and Dragons, alcohol consumption, LARPing, you get what I'm saying.... And the angry passion on here from some smells like buyers remorse.

I do however, retract my Tulsa comments.

And this pretty much sums up that thread.... from meangreener...

I think GMG.com should put a strict NO POSITIVE THREADS moratorium in place. Anyone who doesn't obey is immediately banned for life and forced to sit in the visitor section of Apogee.

Tulane was not good. Push over, obviously not. But they were not good and they knew it. Teams who have kickers that try to fake injuries know they aren't that good. We should have beaten that team. Why is it so destructive in your eyes that I point that out?

And for the record... I happen to reject this mentality of "us vs. them" THAT FREQUENTS here. Yes, we are all fans on this board. But, with witnessing the slander towards our AD, HIS DEPT., players, coaches, etc.- it seems all bets are off on what is acceptable to say. But, if you call a "moment of fury" comment stupid or even try to point out that maybe its a little off the tracks, that's unacceptable. Hmmmmmm...

You say I'm biased. There's truth in that. But so are you. Putting blinders on because of years of disappointment is no different than me putting "greener" glasses on.

I don't feel any level of superiority. If me being positive and rejecting negativity makes anyone feel belittled- that's their problem.

I'm sorry about your loss last year and happy that I have someone else to call me out on this forum. I'm glad to meet you. I sure hope that I get to stick my tongue out at you in person if we get to a bowl.

Good luck to you and I agree with the first line of your post in the referenced thread... I'm tired too.

That is all.

I guess that is what I'm trying to get through to you. Just because we are cautious and feel the need to take every opponent seriously doesn't mean we aren't pulling for the same thing. ...it doesn't even mean that we don't think the team can accomplish that goal. I certainly DO think this team can accomplish the goal of a bowl appearance. ...there will be no need to stick your tongue out at me - I never said it couldn't be done. ...but I am (as are countless others) cautioning against acting like it is a done deal.

Enjoy the game this weekend.
