No I am merely stating that ignoring what happened last season is sticking your head in the ground. How can anyone ignore what happened last season? On paper what happened last season should not have occurred.

Who is ignoring anything? I think most of us have acknowledged that last season was a disaster. Don't think it is possible to ignore LAST season...but the operative words here are "last season". Dwelling on the past really does ZERO good. The past is the past. Time to move on. If you guys want to focus on the past and something that no one can change, well good for you. Live out the past and wallow in the frustration of last year. So far, how is that working out?

Sean...not so much talking about you, just all the folks who say they will not come until this or that happens, who was at fault, yadda, yadda, yadda! Really helping, right?

The folks who are ignoring anything seem to be those cutting off their own noses to spite their faces with their attitudes toward this new season. But, just a matter of perspective I guess.

Kram has a point, but 90, armyofdad, and UNTfan23 are completely right. I get that we should put last season behind us, and I have tried very hard, but I just have no clue how we're supposed to just forget that happened and look forward to this year.

Some are saying that we got rid of some attitudes that caused the downfall of last year's team (TM13 and PJ to name a couple), but who's to say that none of these new guys will cause some locker room discord? Not to accuse guys who haven't done anything wrong yet, but it's a very realistic possibility.

I want to be excited for the year, but looking at things realistically is making it hard to do.

Well, for one reason, we don't know as yet what the team attitude and individual attitudes will be. Do not believe anyone knows how that will go as yet. Why assume the worst? That, to me is part of the joy surrounding college sports. Every year is a new year. Last year is over. Why dwell on the past? Anyone ever been successful in changing the past? Seems to me it is better to learn from mistakes and move on. We have yet to see if our coaches or players learned anything from last season. But, I am willing to give them the opportunity to show me that they did. Like some of said...lots of new players. And, to think some are already saying they won't support them based on what happened with a team last season that they were not even a part of creating. Interesting way to show support in my opinion, but perhaps it us just a natter of how one approaches challenges. Attitude and perspective say so much about how a person approaches challenges.

A 5 year (or more?) contract extension for the person ultimately responsible for last season

Oh, so now it wasn't the head coach's fault? Man, I just can't keep up with all the various characters you want to blame these days. Come on, man, pick a line and stay with it.

Pretty soon you will be down to the trainers.

You think the only evaluation area for an AD is the men's BB HC hire? Let's see, of the main three, two seem to be on the right track to building winning programs. The third is only in his second year...yes, after a pretty ugly first year for a variety of reasons. Then add the CUSA move, baseball being added, etc. etc. you seem to think the job is a "one trick pony" evaluation process. Some need to tell the BOR and the University Prez and the University Chancellor to re-write the evaluation form for AD's. Only needs to have one criteria...just ask. UNT90. Easy job!

Don't worry, about halfway through the conference slate, I expect rumors to be floated yet again that it is all the player's fault because they sleep with college women.

Dramatically over the top, but I like it.

I have neither forgotten not forgiven last season. How could anyone.

But, I am looking forward to basketball season.

Now that's the proper attitude. Except for the forgiven part. Always better to forgive but not forget....don't want the same mistakes happening a second time, but I am told that forgiving is the right thing to do and is good for the soul.

Hey, I am going to be in L.A. on Alumni business this next week. Where are you located Courtland? We will be staying at the Biltmore in LA. Would be great to get together for a beer or something if possible.

I'm in Hollywood. There's a big alumni event taking place on the 4th - is that the thing you are speaking of?

Yep, that's it. You going to attend? Hope so...and, let's hope it is a "big alumni event". Ha! I'll be helping to host it along with a couple of other folks. Am looking forward to it...spread the word...come and be part of the fun! Hope to see you thee. I'll be looking for you and hoping to have a problem finding you in all the crowd! Fingers crossed. :-)

Edit: Bring me a hot dog from Pink's! That's near Hollywood, right?

Last I heard there were about 30 RSVP's. We'll see how many folks make it.

Skooby's a much better Hotdog place than Pinks IMHO.

Good to know that you forgive the players on last years squad. I guess we need to make sure these new players don't mess it up this year, right??

I've been to Pink's but not Skooby's. I have heard folks claim Skooby's us better. So, OK, bring me a Skooby's and I'll buy you a beer at the event. Deal? :-)
