I talked with Mark M recently about the possibility of opening up the Alumni Pavilion at the end of games. Fans could go there, have a beer or two, and celebrate / commiserate while listening to the George and Hank doing the KNTU postgame show and watch the days college game highlights. Another posibility would be to ask Evan, Harry and guests do their GoMeanGreen.Com postgame show live at the pavilion after the KNTU postgame show ends.

Mark said that it was entirely possible for the future, maybe next year, that there would be minimal costs other than the required licensed beer servers, and that even modest beer sales would cover that.

His only question was if this would actually be something that the fans would be interested in, and if it would create additional incentive for fans to join the alumni association.

My thought was that events like this provide tangible benefits for current alumni association members as well as being an excellent way to involve potential members.

What are your thoughts or ideas on this subject?

Considering it's typically just my wife and I locking the Pavilion completely down after games, getting a small head-start on my cleaning and reset of it, and I sheepishly grin at the droves of folks walking by to the Ped bridge.... I think this could work.

This is an especially good idea for the myriad of afternoon games coming in November and in future years with TV start times.

I don't know how successful it would be for 6pm starts, but I would hang around for a while after an afternoon start.

I think its a great idea. I'd be down for a couple post game beers before the bike ride home. Who knows about this Mark M. character though? Can we trust him?

Can We? Will We? :shuriken:

How about a little post game music? That would be cool, especially for afternoon games. I may even just bring a tent or grab a hotel room if this happens.

I know, you gotta pay a band, but I would even stop by if there was a $5 cover charge.

Just a thought.

I hang around the Club for a while after game, but the first thing I do when I get back to the car is turn on the post game show. I think it would be fun to have the show broadcast from the Alumni Pavillion while traffic lets up. Perhaps listen to some HSOs from Mean Green fans and maybe invite some opponent's fans ( if they're civil) to give their assessment of Apogee.

I won't be there, but I'll listen.

You're gonna need to get some Founders and/or Armadillo in there if you want my post game dollars, son.

Might be able to get somebody like--oh, I don't know--Brant Lee Croucher for a post-game. Never know.

We have needed a post game radio talk show for a long time. ULL has had one for many years in which fans can even call in with concerns and questions.

At zero U they always have a guest from the team join in on their post game show as well.

Overall it would be a great idea.

True that. Really weak beer selection in there...

But again, this idea has so much win, it needs to happen this year!

4 of 6 home games remaining for the year...what's the biggest hurdle that would prevent rolling with this? I mean, obviously I won't be there, but still, it seems like such a great idea that you could move on quickly. Other than getting the actual approval needed, it would seem like anything else you would need to do this should be pretty easy, no?
