I was writing up 5 Controversial Statements for my blog when I thought of a question that I would ask the Mean Green Nation so here goes.

Would you take a Conference USA West Division crown, but a loss to UTSA? or 6 wins including a win over UTSA, but no shot at a conference title?

CUSA West Division Crown all day long. I assume that would include 6 wins and a bowl.

I'll take the stumble and the division title. This would likely mean we beat both Rice and Tulsa.

You have to take the division crown. It would also be the start of an instant in-state rivalry.

We need Texas rivals, and like it or not, UTSA fits the bill.

How about a 3rd choice?

Win the rest of our games with the exception of UTSA. That would give us a bowl win and a heck of a record.

I'd take choice 3 in a heartbeat.

What matters is what catches the public's eye and brings in more dollars for the program. Playing for the conference championship is the only answer.

Seems easy to me: Conference championship game

Additional game =

A: increased program exposure,

B. More focused practice time leading to better development of younger players heading into bowl game/spring ball

The prospect of going undefeated is unlikely, but I'm not going to get concerned over where the loss comes (even if it is homecoming)

To me, and it appears to everyone else that has answered already as well, Division Title + shot at Conference Title >>>>> win over a team that "wants" to be our rival.

Is anyone really that concerned about UTSA? Of course I'd like the Mean Green to beat them just like I would with any other opponent, but I also am happy for the early success that UTSA has earned.

Hopefully both programs continue to improve and this series can become a noteworthy rivalry.

I really think our home of stretch of the Texas teams are going to be the primary factors of the CUSA West Champion.
