Since we have so many more of our games being televised as a CUSA member is it time to have both of Apogee's end zones to be spruced up? (Watching a re-play of Baylor/ULM at Floyd Casey Stadium with the solid gold end zones with BAYLOR inside that is the inspiration although I know this would probably be listed as a low priority item at the moment--but this is more for the TV cameras than those of our fans inside the stadium.
End zone art(?) seems to be a new trend in the NCAA and albeit we have a world class, LEEDS Platinum certified Taj Mahal of an on-campus college football stadium, for our numerous TV viewing audiences maybe a more colorful end zones would now be in order?
My post is not allowing a "close up" pic of the Apogee end zones to be posted for whatever reason--maybe one of you can post such a pic? If not, my signature of Apogee should suffice..

Along this topic, during TV games, there's usually an "advertisement" video that is run from each school and usually from the conference.

Anyway, did anybody else notice in the UNT video during the Georgia game that it showed FB highlights in FOUTS!!!!

yes I noticed the Dodge era unis and clips of fouts. But hey, its only been 3 years.

Dont we have a Green Light to Greatness video we could have used. That is a slick, solid campaign that needs to be our face for the nation.

AGREED. Our field looks odd on tv with all the black & no kelly green, & no black in out unis. Looks like we're playing on someone else's field at times.

:thumbsu:

Apogee is too darn special (and a quite beautiful "Lady") to have such "plain Jane" end zones.

Just wonder how much for it to be done?

Hey, it's only been 20 somthing years since we changed from NTSU. That Commercial has a long time to go.

How about we paint the Endzone a light grey? Or maybe thick diagnol emerald green and kelly green stripes?

I doubt we'll see the end zone change. I'm sure Rick had to fight like heck just to get the black lettering. I'm sure someone in "Branding" wanted green letters and Rick had to pull in some favors to point out that the field was going to be green as well.

We have very little black on the field. Only in the letters in the endzone and as a trim around the field of play. Keep in mind that the black and white is actually artificial grass that is actually that color; not green grass painted black or white. To get kelly colored green means you'd need special ordered grass or paint the already green grass. You'd likely have to repaint the kelly colored grass every couple years due to fading from the sun unless you somehow were able to special order the kelly green grass when the field is installed.

Interesting, I didn't know the black & white were already colored & not painted. Either way, it looks odd not having any black in the uniforms to match the field. It's in our practice uniforms, and I believe every other UNT sports team uses black as a color. UNT even sells merchandise with black as a color. It would be nice to have some consistency with the rest of the sports teams. The end zones would look great in kelly green surrounding the black (in an attempt to actually match our uniform or school color).

Ah, the presumed all powerful branding department again, eh?

Got hungry for a bowl of Rice Chex when I saw Fresno State's checker board squares end zones during their game with Boise State.

Are not some of these end zone paintings actually temporary that can be washed off with a power hose?

Apogee is like a super model that someone from the trailer court gave a her a very bad toe nail polish job with our very drab end zone look. It's all about show business, folks, and that is what NCAA FBS football is all about--whether we like it or not.

I understand that these things most times have to be planned a year in advance; much like serious numbers of "butts in seats" promotions.

With 9 of our games on TV this Fall, wouldn't most of us have liked our "Lady" to look like she was dressed up even more for prime time?

GMG!

Addendum:

This is Fresno State actually having the red and white panels put in place--so forget the paint job theory! LOL!

Of course, I'd bet their national TV appearance with Boise last weekend inspired them to do this, but most likely did not plan doing it 1 or 2 weeks before that TV game.

AGAIN: It's show business and that is what NCAA FBS football is all about--like it or not.
