Kliff is staying at Tech until he's forced to leave.

It's cute that UT thinks they have the sway to get Nick Saban to leave Alabama. The level of arrogance is astounding.

Based on Saban's track record it would not surprise me one iota if he's coaching in Austin in the future. If not in Austin then somewhere.

This I would agree with. Not saying he would go, but like LSU's Miles, and S Carolina's Old Ball a Coach, Saban does impress me more as a money whore of a coach than does a Kingsbury or a Gundy.

Sort of like the Larry Brown of basketball. We know what they are, it just takes the right amount of money.

Texas got a big win against K-State tonight and they are 1-0 in Big 12.

So Mac needs to beat OU. But Texas has talent so it's not over for Mac yet.

It's over. They played a team that couldn't throw and played on adrenaline. OU will stomp them. Ditto Baylor. And OSU. Maybe TCU too. Luckily Kansas and Iowa State still field teams..

JJ would be outta Baton Rouge in 2 shakes if a dogs tail if Duke came calling with a pile of cash.

Don't kid yourself.

That is the 1 UNT coach you are talking about, right ?

Doubt it. He's pulling in top ten classes at his alma mater. The chance to see that through (while being paid handsomely currently, make no mistake) holds more sway.

You know there are those for whom cynicism and money are not the predominant driving forces.

You are correct, but those people work in law enforcement, not coaching big time college basketball.

Coach K retires, Duke offers JJ, gone like teeth in a small Bayou town.

Bottom line is he is a victim of being in place to long. Does it mean he is a bad coach? No. Look at Andy Reid. He is a great coach but the team needed change. Not that they are doing great but they will get better. UT will have a new coach before Mack's contract expires.

On a side note, isn't Kansas State kind of weak this year? They lost to an FCS team, although it's the 2 time defending national championship FCS team. Either way K State isn't a powerhouse this season.

JJ is exactly where he wants to be and LSU can match any Duke offer if they choose. I believe that Duke goes the way of UCLA, North Carolina, Kansas and Kentucky when Coach K retires. They'll still be good but not national championship contenders every year. Bullet is holding his own in recruiting against the best where he is and is in comfortable surroundings.

JJ at Duke? Probably doesn't have enough suits. Does he like jam or jelly? How do they feed their babies at Duke?
