ESPN College Gameday

They're apparently heading to Fargo, ND for North Dakota State.

Their reaction, however, leaves a little to be desired as some are complaining because they're setting up shop a couple miles away from campus...

"The news made fans of Bison Nation ecstatic over the imminent arrival of Lee Corso and Co., but some of them are grumbling about where the show's setting up shop. Rather than broadcasting from the Fargodome, where dozens of green and yellow coach buses and other homemade party wagons gather for tailgating, ESPN will be in front of the city's historic Fargo Theatre.

Parts of Bison Nation think otherwise, so much so that officials with the school's athletic department have implored them to stop tweeting their displeasure to ESPN and pleaded with fans to come downtown before the 2:30 p.m. game against Delaware State.

"It'll be more than worth it to sacrifice three hours of tailgating to head downtown, support local businesses and provide the best welcome ESPN College GameDay has ever received," NDSU athletic director Gene Taylor said on the gobison.com website. Besides, Taylor said, the tailgating lots will open earlier than usual."

It's good to see that the gmg community isn't the only one prone to search for the bad about anything.

That makes as much sense as ESPN doing Gameday from the square in Denton.

I don't blame the fans.

Agree. I thought it was pretty cool they were going there this weekend, but I did wonder why downtown as opposed to the school when I first saw it.

I've seen NDSU play in person twice in Frisco...both times NDSU brought 12,000 to 14,000 fans. Their tailgating is legit, and their fans are awesome....taking the production away from the FargoDome is ridiculous. One of our really great NT fans/posters grew up as an NDSU fan, and I'd be very interested to know his thoughts.

You're not kidding. They literally took over every bar from Shops at Legacy north. Bars would put out flags, play "Thunderstruck" every half hour (apparently a NDSU "thing"), and the people were awesome.

As I'm sure you know, the played Sam Houston State both times, and what blew me away is how they absolutely outnumbered the SHSU fans at least 2 or 3 to 1.
