We don't have a bowl game in our home stadium so we can't try and drum up attendance for one of our games by piggybacking a fairly popular bowl game.

You all miss the point. UTSA is taking stock of what advantages they have, playing to those strengths, and reaping the reaards. We seem to be content to cling to the same excuses our administration (and fans) have seen as crutches for years.

When did SNU start playing home games at Apogee??

The stance from RV as of a few podcasts ago is there will be no more five home game seasons. What I said is that if for whatever reason we are absolutely unable to drop out of one of those two games, at least there's a sixth game that's within driving distance for our alumni and fans.

It's a different market, different situation entirely. There are a lot more places, teams and events for businesses to invest their advertising dollars in D/FW versus San Antonio.

Also, the Alamo Bowl is downtown. We're 40 miles from the center of either downtown destination in D/FW.

Yes at this time of the year, there's really nothing for San Antonians to do but sit and wait for my beloved Spurs to begin basketball season, so why not go see a cheap football game?

Addendum:

All in all, this attendance thing is (IMHO) more than just a UNT Athletic Department thing. TCU and their Committee of 100 a few years back would tell us all that in a heart beat. TCU did not solve their attendance woes all by themselves at all.

GMG!

Tuesday Evening Addendum:

One of our funnier alums suggested today that North Texas should have a "Committee of 31,000" and see how that worked out!
