University of North Texas split its first two football games of the year, beating University of Idaho (40-6), but losing to Ohio University (27-21). In the victory over Idaho, Mason Y’Barbo (Sulpher Springs) and Daniel Prior (Henderson) both started, as Y’Barbo started at left guard, while Prior started at wide receiver. The pair helped North Texas post 591 yards of offense. Of those yards, 404 were passing yards and 187 were rushing yards. Prior also had four rushing yards on two carries and one solo tackle. In the loss to Ohio, Y’Barbo started at left guard, helping UNT post 299 yards of offense, 195 of which were passing yards. They rushed for 104 yards. Fellow UNT player Blake Macek (Sulpher Springs) punted seven times for 273 yards, which is 39.0 yards per punt. His longest punt was 53 yards. He had one punt land inside the 20-yard line and one touchback.

I've gotta say, this was probably the worst game I've ever seen out of Y'Barbo. Gotta cut those pre-snap penalties. He was going to be the focus of my rant if we were to have lost by less than 4. Glad he got it in gear. Hopefully that was his 'bad game' for the year and that mean S.O.B. version returns for our GA matchup.
